Guarding the golden corn for the ImperiOwl Navy is no easy job, especially when everyowl guarding Fort Nocturn is a nocturnal owl. Pulling the day shift is a real pain in the eyes, keeping the foulest of the fowl away from the golden treasure stolen from the natives of the West Birdies. But for Commander Snow, no job is too difficult.

When I learned about the Bricknerd Pirates competition, I was immediately excited to build a pirate-ship. And after discovering that these hats fit the Simpson cats quite well, I just knew I wanted to go cartoony for the full vibe. It was a bit rushed in the end, but I'm still happy with this little build :)

The crew aboard The Cheshire has finally found the fabled Lucky Cat Island! But Captain White Fur seems to be a bit too busy eating his lunch to notice he's about to pass the island entirely, while lookout Kuro Neko is more concerned with looking for birds than to look ahead. Meanwhile Cutlass Saru is just trying to pick a fight as always. No wonder this crew is missing some limbs... Good thing cats have nine lives!

This Motley crew of Ne'er do wells were assembled by Captain Elrissa Leon - A lioness.
(3rd from the right) They sail the seas off the Chima Peninsula. Having forsaken their various tribes, they now prey on anyone foolish enough to come close to their frigate.
Left to Right
Rex - ships dogsbody! A fearsome fighter with a bite first ask questions later attitude. A more scurvy sea dog you'll not find.
"Powder" Ships Gunner and master of cannons don't mention brass monkeys to him...
Osmando Stretch -First Mate - opulently wealthy - a coward - who knew burying your head in the sand could be so useful for a pirate....
Crabby Jack - Has a complex about being a little shrimp but a cunning spy - he talks with the other sea creatures and shares info with the captain using claw Morse code clicks. always alert and has so far avoided Reza's cooking pot!
Captain Elrissa Leon - Cast out for her view on how she could run the tribe far better, ruthless and cunning - she has united all the creatures of Chima who don't fit in and they scour the seas searching for booty and do as they please!
Albert Greenscail - Ships Navi-gator - knows the oceans and inland waterways and bays like the back of his hand. A keen cartographer and marine biologist. a gentle soul despite his fearsome visage
Reza Scally - Ships cook and born survivalist - unpopular even among the Ratfolk of the Undercaves, he can make a meal out of literally anything... Whether you would want to eat it or not is another thing... Known to abandon ship prematurely on more than one occasion.

Build in a little under two month for the BrickNerd “pi-RATS & BUG-aneers” contest. Based on the frame of the Silent Mary, the whole bow/head section can lift up to show-off the kraken's fearsome mouth. I'd love to add more rigging but did run out of time and string. The sails are original lego, dyed with black fabric dye.

PlunderCats are on the move, PlunderCats are loose! The PlunderCats are a band of ferocious feline pirates lead by the fearsome Captain Fluffybeard. Their ship is basically just a box with sails since the cats are usually more interested in the crate that the pirate ship parts arrive in than the actual ship itself. Their hideout is located in the middle of the Catribbean on Cat Skull Island (which used to be inhabited by Mouselanders) and is essentially a big cat tree. This is where they are keeping their enemy, the scurvy dog Admiral Barkington, hostage and where they are hiding their most prized treasure, the Golden Cheezburger. Plunder, plunder, PlunderCats yo-HO!

Over on Brick Nerd there's a contest called Pi-RATS and BUGaneers for non-minifig pirates. Dunno if I'm going to participate, but finding a potential crew was fairly easy.

The raccoons have taken their dumpster diving to the seven-seas! The world's oceans are no longer a deterrent to their scavenging and plundering.
Their island hideaway is where they guard their loot and barter with other rogue, swashbuckling wildlife. And it is nearly impenetrable thanks to their trashcan cannons that pelt would-be invaders with soda cans, pies, and basketballs.
The hideaway is also home to the renowned Grubby Paw tavern. Can you even say you've really swash-buckled without having thrown back a pint of egg-grog at the Grubby Paw?

This is my first big MOC! Since it's for BrickNerd's pi-RATS and BUG-aneers contest celebrating 90 years of Lego, I wanted to build something that channeled the love I have for chaotic mishmash creations. Lego Friends is my favorite theme and what pulled me out of my dark ages, so marrying 90s' Pirates with a Friends color pallets seemed like a fun project!
Somewhere on the high seas of Azeroth, Orc Captain Foulgrunt and the crew of the Ka'lypso set sail for adventure and treasures untold but mostly just in search of more grog.
The Ka'lypso is a 16-gun vessel imbued (some say possessed) with a warlock's Infernal.
This sometimes gives the ship a mind of its own but also grants them a formidible secret weapon, the Infernal cannon!
My entry for the BrickNerd "pi-RATS & BUG-aneers" contest.
I based my crew on many of the non-human races from the World of Warcraft video game.
I also wanted my entry to evoke the night-time look of Melee Island from The Secret of Monkey Island video game.
The custom sails are made from the packing paper from a recent LEGO.com order.
Bosun Robert Logan cursed with the rest of the crew of the "Sirens Lament". once a fearsome bareknuckle fighter his fists are now powerful claws and his mouth a tentacled beak. His fearsome temper is now even more out of control - he hates seafood!

Finnius Sharp was a powerful Sea-Sorcerer and Captain of the "Sirens Lament".
So confident of his magical and seafaring abilities he pursued a spanish treasure galleon into the fearsome whirlpool known as the devils throat. When the majority of his crew abandoned ship he used his spells to navigate the ship with just a skeleton crew of his three most trusted lieutenants - binding them to his craft against their will.
His ship went down tethered to the Galleon by some foul magic triggered by his greed for gold. Such was his lust for the treasure that his soul was bound to the Spanish gold and the surrounding environs of the galleons wreck.

I built this racoon trash can pirate ship for the Bricknerd piRATs and BUGaneers Contest. With a racoon skull sail and a hull full of gold, these masked bandits are on the hunt for lost treasures (gold Bionicle masks?)! Watch out for the double-crossing racoon impersonators! This is my entry to the BrickNerd ‘pi-RATS & BUG-aneers’ LEGO contest. The brief was to build a pirate-themed ship, fort or hideaway inspired by a non-human crew.
Those pesky Pirates, led by Captain Ginger Bread, have sailed to the Imperial Carrot Fort to rescue their captured shipmate.
The Pirate baddies are made up of junk food, the Imperial goodies are all fruit and vegetables. The Pirate ships are made of chocolate, sweet treats, and a hot dog inna bun. The weapons are all food related too – watch out for the carrot trebuchet, cherry cannons, ketchup, mustard, frying pans, whisks, knives and more!
Will the Pirates succeed in rescuing Blue Ice Cream? Or will the Imperials save the day?
This is my first time building a MOC bigger than a 16 x 16 base plate. My aim was to fill it with creativity and plenty of NPU. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge!

My entry for the Bricknerd piRATs and Bug-aneers contest.
For my crew I decided to use some of the minifigs from the Bionicle brick built sets and make an island setting reminiscent of the ones from the original Bionicle storyline. I had a lot of fun building the rocks and adding plant life to this moc, as well as giving all of the pirates accessories and weapons. My favorite parts are the Bionicle masks set in the rock formations.
This contest was a good challenge and a lot of fun!
In French, octopus translates to pieuvre. This MOC is therefore inspired by a pun. Hat for the pirate hat that serves as its jawbone...

My entry to the BrickNerd Pirate contest. A Scorpion Pirate Island Hideout!
The claws move aside and up to reveal a gate that opens into a secret cave with a dock to unload treasure. The treasure can be stored in the treasure room. The watch is kept at the top of the tail of the scorpion. The island is protected by a cannon and any enemies will be thrown in the dungeon.
