It was like a photographers convention at the "Dee" this morning. All looking through the view finder waiting for that one big wave. Then a race back home to get it uploaded on to their favourite photosharing site. To think I was one of those people.

Or getting any other trouble?
I own an older Huawai phone and this photoshare file is about 29 GB big!!!!!!!
I saved it on my laptop but I have some little doubts if I really want to press the delete button on my phone. Uhhh...
😉
My phone is going out of any capacity and I don't find anything else anymore to clean.
Just to say, that I am probably out of order in the future....
I'm very happy if anyone is able help me with advice!
Another shot from my recent flight in Scotland. This time it is Cruachan Dam. Part of the hydro electric power station deep in the mountain, the water from the dam feeds into Loch Awe (top left of the image) when generating power. At night however water is pumped back up from the Loch into the dam. Renewable energy at its best!

Kata Tjuṯa (means many heads), also known as the Olgas, is a group of large, dome shaped rock formations or bornhardts located about 32 km west of Uluru and 360 km (220 mi) southwest of Alice Springs. Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, located 25 km to the east, and Kata Tjuṯa form the two major landmarks within the Uluru-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. The 36 domes that make up Kata Tjuṯa cover an area of 21.68 km2 (8.37 sq mi), are composed of conglomerate, a sedimentary rock consisting of cobbles and boulders of varying rock types including granite and basalt, cemented by a matrix of sandstone. The highest dome, Mount Olga, is 1,066 m (3,497 ft) above sea level, or approximately 546 m (1,791 ft) above the surrounding plain (198 m (650 ft) higher than Uluru. They are thought to have been one huge piece of rock, much like Uluru, that has weathered over millions of years to become an intriguing series of individual formations. Kata Tjuta has been listed as Dual UNESCO heritage site.
This was taken on board a helicopter run by the PROFESSIONAL HELICOPTER SERVICES. The domes were illuminated beautifully in the warm spring morning light.

The Red Stone Forest (Hongshilin National Geopark) is located in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province, China. These red carbonate rocks are believed to be formed during Ordovician, the second period of the Paleozoic era, between the Cambrian and Silurian periods. The stone formations originated underwater, later rising above sea level following tectonic shifts. The natural elements and 450 million years of erosion gave them their striking wavy texture. The rocks are known to change hues with the weather and seasons, with a deep rusty red being their most distinctive, hence the park’s name, the “Red Stone Forest.”
This was taken in an overcast, autumn afternoon.

Uluru / Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation. Uluru is just the expsed tip of a huge vertical body of rock. This rock probably extends far below the surrounding plain, probably for several kilometres. It lies 335 km (208 mi) south west of the nearest large town, Alice Springs. It has been listed as Dual UNESCO heritage site.
Uluru means Meeting Place. It is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area. The area around the formation is home to an abundance of springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings. Uluru and Kata Tjuta, also known as the Olgas, are the two major features of the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. Uluru, the world's most famous monolith, is an evocative and powerful icon of the Australian landscape. Uluru appears in many guises and poses a unique photographic challenge.
Elevation: 863 m (2,831 ft)
Prominence: 348 m (1,142 ft)
Circumference: 9.4 km
This was taken on board a Jetstar JQ664, moments before landing onto Uluru Airport. It was my first visit to Uluru. The mammoth monolith looked stunningly beautiful. This is the east side of Uluru, a prominent landmark known as "The Brain" is clearly featured.

Mirror Lakes are a set of lakes lying north of Lake Te Anau and immediately to the west of the road from Te Anau to Milford Sound in New Zealand. At 56 kilometres (35 mi) north of Te Anau, the lakes are about halfway to Milford Sound and the car park right next to State Highway 94 is a popular stop for tour buses on route to Milford Sound.
Here a mountain range is reflected in the still, clear water, hence the "mirror" effect.

La Perouse is a suburb in south-eastern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The suburb of La Perouse is located about 14 kilometres southeast of the Sydney central business district, in the City of Randwick. The La Perouse peninsula is the northern headland of Botany Bay. It is notable for its old military outpost at Bare Island and the Kamay Botany Bay National Park. Congwong Bay Beach, Little Congwong Beach, and the beach at Frenchmans Bay provide protected swimming areas in Botany Bay. La Perouse is one of few Sydney suburbs with a French name, others being Sans Souci and Vaucluse.
This image was taken at Bare Island at low tide. The weathered sandstone was marvellous, being carved out by wind and rain. The afternoon lighting made it an interesting study of the rock erosion.

Flickr, in my opinion is still the best photosharing platform online. It has been on life support for years though.
I think the basis of it's survival lies in several aspects. First, it MUST have a viable, easy to use, glitch proof mobile app. Second it MUST be made cool again so as to appeal to younger users. Finally, the community that once was flickr must be fostered and restored.

I have been on Flickr for almost 10 years. I can notice the traffic on Flickr is getting less and less in the recent years. In my personal case with same number of followers or even more, the daily visits comes down from 30.000+ to only 10,000 visits a day.
Flickr is an unique photo sharing community and it is quite different from Instagram or Facebook in my opinion. I would hope that the new owner of Flickr after takeover from Yahoo can make it better.

Flickr is the most important photosharing social, his new business is oriented to catch people that love take photos of their feet or hamburger or cat with mobile device, so his new layout and new [no] cost is makes to support their. I'm worried that the new Flickr 'philosophy' gives to the world the idea that photography is picturesque colorful photos and it push in this way. Photography, in my opinion is memory, statement, tell of our Time, our Life that you can't show with the tricks of some tablet

This was the first photo I ever posted on a photosharing site, back in the days when I thought that fotolog was the most wonderful thing I had ever come across. Despite leaving comments on all the amazing photos I saw, I didn't get a single one on this photo, and almost gave the whole thing up as a bad idea ...
Now, older and wiser, I found it again whilst looking through some CDs of photos and decided it was worth a second chance ...
_________________________________________________________________________
"A fitful night's sleep - hardly surprising after what happened last night ...
We came to a large flat area surrounded by a bend in the stream. Pitching the tents was second nature by now and we were soon settled around the fire, eating well, sharing a few beers and enjoying the company. I was mesmerised by another african sky - I must try to remember that feeling of staring into infinity. An infinty scattered with more stars than I have ever seen in my life set against a dark sky - it didn't seem to be black, just a deep velvety blue. Countless, nameless stars shining and twinkling through the Milky Way. I now understand where it gets its name.
Feeling elated but tired we crawled into our sleeping bags and settled down for the night, drifting off into a peaceful world ... only to find ourselves sitting bolt upright a few minutes later, the hairs standing up on the back of our necks and hearts pounding ...
Staggering bleary-eyed back to the safety of the fire we were met by a laugh from our guide, a warm throaty chuckle, as he explained that, yes, we had heard lions roaring, but, no, there was no need to worry as they were several miles away, their calls carrying across the empty night. He told us that we should be more worried about the tribe of baboons living on the other side of the stream ...
We woke to another beautiful morning, the sky still dark, but with the hint of light on the distant horizon. We set off and as the sun began to rise our guide almost immediately told us to be quiet as he had spotted a big cat hiding in the bushes not more than half a mile from our camp. We strained to see it in the dense undergrowth, its camouflage keeping it hidden from our untrained eyes.
But then it moved, and we caught a glimpse of its power and beauty, stretching gracefully in the early morning light. Ignoring us, it sauntered through the bushes and out into open land. We followed at a discreet distance and watched as it strolled towards the lone dead tree. In the higher branches we could make out a dark shape and the leopard climbed nimbly up the trunk towards it, out onto the thickest branch. It stood, looked around and then moved the shape, pulling and turning it until it was ready. The sun seemed to rise suddenly and bathed the whole scene in its clear warm light, the leopard pulling at its prey before settling to eat. Trying to focus tired eyes through my lens, I clicked and clicked, keeping an eye on the number of exposures left on the film, trying to get the best angle, hoping that at least one of the shots would capture the feeling of the moment."
And this photo is what we saw - one of those moments which will stay with me for the rest of my life ...

Sharing is more about communication and interaction with each other. There are so many photo sharing platforms on the net. There are also different types of users.
Professional photographers use the platform more as showcase window of their portfolio. I would say they are the "post and run" type user Seldom they will visit and check other people's works or leave comments for others..
Amateurs are more willing to interact with others and make comments on each other's works. Or try to learn from each other and share experience.
What type of sharing do you prefer? What type of user are you?
Sharing on internet is not as good as sharing at face to face meeting? Do you think so?
