Here was my first attempt at dying yarn. The base yarn is from Knit Picks, the fingering weight yarn. To dye the yarn I used food coloring, the Wilton gel colors to be exact. I was very happy with the way it turned out except for the portion I wanted black. It turned purple.

Hamlet is modeling the yarn for me. This picture was taken with my cell phone camera. The color is off a bit and it's not in focus.
