Last version of an Australian public phonebox since they were made redundant by mobile phones. I used one here, maybe even the very same one, some 30 years ago and paid using a prepaid Telstra card. Nowadays I believe they provide free calls and wifi.
one for james ... saw a nice phonebox up near leek in the middle of knowhere, flashed natural through the box to give the shadows..
Pennan is a single row of houses, we get loads of visitors because of the location, it's where all the harbour and exterior hotel scenes were filmed for Local Hero, the star of the film was a red phone box and although not the box from the film (that was a prop) our phone box gets literally 1000s of people arriving each year to have their photo taken "talking to Houston" :)
