A natural stone formation along the Mastodon Peak Trail in Joshua Tree National Park. The "Stone Philosopher" was what my brother called it. Very appropriate.

The Philosopher's Walk is famous for brilliant cherry blossoms in spring -- apparently it looks like it's snowing flower petals! Alas, I was there a week too early. On the whole path, there were only two or three blossoms and a lot of buds.
