Spotted this interesting man from our coach, he had scribbled his thoughts on politics on the wall behind him. Was too busy taking shots of him to figure out what he was smirking at.
Something about this wolf spider’s pose, contemplating the room, struck me as philosophical. He turned towards me slightly when he saw me approach with the camera, and then shrugged.

This photograph was taken at a flower stall in Campo dei Fiori.
The name of this square seems to be connected to the fact that it was once a flower-invaded meadow. The statue of Giordano Bruno, that can be seen standing in the centre of the square, reminds us of the execution that took place on the 17th February 1600 A.D. , when the philosopher, accused of heresy, was burnt alive by the Roman Inquisition. Today a fruit, vegetable and fish market takes place every weekday around the statue, and in the evenings the bars and pubs on the square are packed with youths not only from Rome but from all over the world.

Filmed in the forests, aviaries, studios and laboratories of England, Germany and the USA, this is a colourful, entertaining, informative and occasionally weird journey through the songs of nature that have enchanted and perplexed humans for thousands of years.
