She had lost her car on the parking lot, and took it philosophically, taking out time to smile for me, and to thank me for my empathy.

She found the car very shortly thereafter.

Audrey Powne Quartet Trumpeter and Vocalist Audrey Powne’s music exhibits sophistication and virtuosity rarely demonstrated at her young age. She captures the spirit and vivacity of old fashioned crooners like Sinatra and Nat King Cole with modern sensibilities and a array of influences from Louis Armstrong to contemporary Pop and RnB artists. She is known to Australian soul fans for fronting The Do Yo Thangs and stalwart groove outfit The OMG’s, or to Trumpet enthusiasts as the resident Trumpeter for the likes of The Bedroom Philosopher and The Tiger and me. Her command of the Trumpet has seen her recognized and perform alongside many of the most prominent names on the instrument including Terence Blanchard, James Morrison and Leroy Jones. In 2011 at the age of just 21 Audrey was awarded the James Morrison Jazz Prize as part of the Melbourne International Festival of Brass. With a commanding stage presence, Audrey Powne delivers polished, sophisticated vocals and soaring Trumpet solos with an ebullient and exciting spirit. Audrey Powne displays her dynamic soul vocals and funk-infused trumpet skills. 2 June 12:00-2:00pm

This was right below the Citadella. It was interesting as to why it was there, but then again, whatever. The fiver philosophers here were (around left, beginning with the kneeler): Abraham, Confucious, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Lao Ce. To the left were three free-standing ones: Gandhi, Dharma, and Ferenc, a Hungarian. Budapest, Hungary.

A quote from one of my old calendars.
