At Rudanvägen, closing in on the lakes today, I met Johan. He lives in Handen, works at Telia, and was out on a promenade with his beautiful dog Cairos. Johan turned out to be a bit of a philosopher, hence the somewhat unusual name of his dog. I asked him if he had any interesting travel stories, and he picked a vacation through Sweden with his wife, where they stayed the night at Andrum in Falköping. A hotel with a difference, as it is located high up a tree. It's a little red cottage 6,5 metres up an old oak! Thanks for the chat Johan. Here is a link to the Tree house hotelweb site.

One well known and popular formula for the philosophers stone goes like this: Put a man and a woman in a circle, put the circle in a square and the square in a triangle. put the triangle in a circle and you have the philosophers stone". It's a powerful symbol to describe the creative thought process, or creation in general. The symbol has been a bit of an idee fixe for me for a long time now.

Thomas Hobbes (5 April 1588 – 4 December 1679) was an English philosopher, remembered today for his work on political philosophy. His 1651 book Leviathan established the foundation for most of Western political philosophy from the perspective of social contract theory.[1]
Hobbes also contributed to a diverse array of fields, including history, geometry, physics of gases, theology, ethics, general philosophy, and political science. His account of human nature as self-interested cooperation has proved to be an enduring theory in the field of philosophical anthropology. He was one of the main philosophers who founded materialism.
In October 1679, Hobbes suffered a bladder disorder, which was followed by a paralytic stroke from which he died on 4 December 1679. He is said to have uttered the last words "A great leap in the dark" in his final moments of life.[13] He was interred within St. John the Baptist Church in Ault Hucknall in Derbyshire, England.
I was out of town in the countryside when I chanced upon a group of "bayawak" in an upside down position. The native dwellers in this place would hunt the "bayawak" to be sold to the passersby and tourists either as a pet or as delicacy in the retaurant. This kind of specie is already endangered in the Philippines because of the vanishing forests in the mountains. Here, I titled the photo as "Distorted Reality: the Girl from a Distance" to put a contrast between man and the endangered animal.

The 1858 painting by Thomas J. Stillman depicts himself with his Adirondack wilderness guides and guests, friend John Holmes, poets Ralph Emerson and James Lowell, scientists Louis Agassiz and Jeffries Wyman, along with doctors Estes Howe and Amos Binney, and lawyers Ebenezer Hoar and Horatio Woodman. Henry Longfellow was to join them, but fearing the rifle Emerson carried into the wilderness, he decided not to join the group.

This is a bust of a random man that I sculpted from my head. It was created from Amaco stonex clay. It was coated with Bronze B metal coating. Tiffany green patina was added after the metal coating.
Towards the Serapeum there is Greek statues that are known as the ‘Philosopher’s Circle’.
Ptolemy I set these statues here and there is figures of philosophers, like Homer and Plato.

The side of the Three Philosophers bottle informas that "Brewery Ommegang is located 3624 miles from Brussels, but its heart is right in Belgium. It was created out of our devotion to the unique ales brewed by the country in which brewing is an art and parttaking is a passion."
Leo is Mrs Madelein's son. This was taken at the same time as the previous portrait.
Leo is a teacher, a philosopher and art critic. A man of great insight and wisdom.
He was also Magda's professor!
