Tonight is the first game of the World Series. I step out of 30th Street Station this morning and see the Cira Centre lit up with the Phillies "P."
This is by far the fastest photo I've ever taken, and it's lousy. I'm standing on a wall taking several shots in the dark while the bus driver who knows I'll be boarding honks vigorously for me to get a move on.
I work as a writer so I love that my shaking while taking the photo made the lights look like commas. Yeah, meant to do that. :-)
While I did not grow up in Philly and have never lived there, I had to go to this game, as a Phillies fan this was a great day with a touching ceremony after it was over.

PHIL recently, out of the graciousness of his heart, sent me his supercool polar bear shirt & squirrel postcard! thank you so much! I love them :)
PHIL was our expert navigator last year at the meetup in Chicago and I'm so glad I got to meet him. He's an extremely generous and talented guy & I'm lucky to know him.

Got an invite from a neighbor, Gene, to tag along for a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game. Our tickets were for the "Hall of Fame Club" which gave us access to a kind of museum area with all sorts of memorabilia on display. The Phillies were playing the Pittsburgh Pirates and pulled off a 6-5 win in the 10th inning.

I couldn't wait to get out of the airport to make the short drive into south Philly for a 'real' cheesesteak! We ordered a "...steak with wiz, cheese fries and a birch beer" - gotta love Philly cuisine! Visit my Autumn in Pennsylvania set.
