A meeting of synth-geeks at my studio. 3 December 2011.
My kid Wilson hooked up his DS, playing The Office through Netflix, and ran the audio through the WMD Geiger Counter.
I remember this day. It was cold. A hellicopter flew us and the trees in.
This was the end of the day. Phil sits in a tree box, sipping the last of a thermos of coffee as we waited.
We had been worried that day the Hellicopter may not return, the weather was thick and windy. Finally in a lull it arrived.
Phil was a wood and stone carver.
Treeplanting payed his bills, art was his passion. Phil lives in a smaller town and
spends all his time carving now.
I see his work in the galleries in the city selling for more than I could afford. He no longer needs to suplement with labour.

Invasion of Phanatic statues set to start
By Peter Mucha
Inquirer Staff Writer
Who is Philadelphia's most familiar face?
By week's end, it might not be Ben Franklin, as 20 fancifully decorated Phillie Phanatic statues extend their open arms all over town.
Today and tomorrow, all of the six-foot figures - each painted by a different artist - will be displayed at the Please Touch Museum, at Fairmount Park's Memorial Hall.
Then all but one of the fiberglass mascots will move to other places, including the airport, the zoo, Rittenhouse Square, City Hall, the Free Library's Central Branch, LOVE Park, the ballpark, 30th Street Station, the Comcast Center, and - sorry, Ben - the Franklin Institute and Franklin Square.
Expect one to be at the Citizens Bank branch at 15th and Market Streets for a nearby "Go Phillies Rally," at noon on Wednesday.
The actual Phanatic - wearing his scarlet suit for the Phillies' "Paint the Town Red Week" - will be on hand, along with ballgirls and broadcaster Scott Franzke.
This phlock of Phanatics is part of a team-and-tourism promotion campaign in partnership with Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation.
At season's end, the statues will be auctioned to benefit Phillies charities.
Other Phanatic locations include the African American Museum, the Betsy Ross House, the National Constitution Center, Independence Seaport Museum, Independence Visitor Center, Lloyd Hall, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
This one is at the zoo.
