The foundation stone for the upgradation of the PHC was laid on February 25, by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in the presence of local MLA and Environment Minister Alina Saldanha and others. The project to be built through GSIDC is a two-storeyed building on an area of 2,510 sq mtrs, with a built-up area of 3,849 sq mtrs and it will be built at a cost of Rs 8 crore.
The health centre will have a capacity for 42 beds with facilities for seven OPDs, a mother and child ward, laboratory, operation theatres, NICU, ICU, ultrasound room, X-ray room, pharmacy, etc.

Crawfords Freightlines Class PHC 4,350hp Co-Co No.PHC 001 (and No.PHC 002) on a Sandgate - Port Botany intermodal at Adamstown Station, Central Coast Line, NSW, 3 October 2018. These locos were UGL Rail's Model C44aci general purpose type, 2 of which were built at Broadmeadow, NSW in 2016 for Crawfords Freightlines for intermodal trains. The C44aci were a general purpose development of National Rail's heavy haul NR Class (UGL Model Cv40-9i). 140 C44aci's were built for various Australian operators 2009-17.
