This is a 700-ft. underground light tunnel in the Detroit Metropolitan Airport's (DTW). This airport has to be one of the more impressive airports in the states. Quite surprising.

Experimenting with processing the phone shots from RAW. At 100% they are noisy but by the time I run my normal workflow over them, add lots of contrast, then 50% downsize for web viewing, they look quite good. Considering these were hand held, ISO1000 at 1/6 of a second from a phone, I'll take it.
The Nokia photography app is awesome. full manual control. Using the image stabilisation, I was able to take slow shutter speed images and also do some things like spin the camera to get a great motion blur.
With all of the talk around the LG G4, I thought it was time to highlight how good these Microsoft / Nokia phones are.
I love gadgets, gizmos and all things technology. Like a puppy to a rolling ball or a trout to a lure, I've always been drawn to "the new thing". Just received my new iPhone 6 Plus yesterday, and totally dig it. Fast, more storage so I won't have to 'over-manage' memory like I did on my 5S, and the larger display is beautiful. I speak via ear-bud 99% of the time, so I'm not worried about having something the size of a small book up to my ear. The larger display certainly make reviewing e-mails and PDFs from work much better, and makes perusing my photography portfolio a much more pleasant experience. I know the larger + isn't for everyone, but as long as you have some helpers when you need to move it around, it's actually pretty cool.
Strobist: AB800 at 1/2 power, camera right and behind subjects (pointing down at ~45 degrees). Fired with PWs.
Testing my new Nexus 6 phablet with Panorama and low light capabilities at the historic Orpheum Theater in San Francisco.

upcoming nokia 1002 phablet phone with curved body and screen.
upcoming Nokia 1002 phablet phone Runs Windows Phone 8 / Windows 8.this amazing Featuring a curved 7.5-inch display, it might become reality some day. However, enthusiasts are looking forward for seeing a Nokia phablet pushed to shelves in the not too distant future, and are also imagining what such a device might look like. this phone lookking so cool.
this Nokia 1002 Phablet comes with a 1.8GHz quad-core processor inside, and with a 7.5-inch screen capable of delivering a 1800 × 900 pixels resolution.
It measures 11 mm in thickness and its screen is a 7.5 inch unit with a 1800 x 900 pixel resolution. Other features include an 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera, a 3.2 megapixel front camera and the shooter at the back also has a LED flash and 108pp video capture. Nokia 1002 Phablet offers 64 or 128 GB of mass storage, as well as microSD card slot and SkyDrive, plus USB on the go. It has a 8000 mAh battery under the hood and as far as connectivity goes, you get microUSB 3.0, HDMI, DLNA, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Nokia AV 3.5.
The phablet has pretty much the same virtual keyboard as the Windows Phone and Windows 8 platforms, adapted to the size of the screen and there also seems to be a sort of Home button on the side. I can see there’s also a camera button and the whole Nokia 1002 is a very curved concept tablet.
Nokia 1002 sports a curved body and screen, so as to better fit in the palm of users’ hands and to deliver increased solidity. A pen to expand the input options was also included in the mix.
At the unveiling of their first Windows Phone 8 smartphones, Nokia also said that Windows 8 could provide a great deal of opportunities, which could suggest plans for a tablet PC powered by this OS, thus making the Nokia 1002 Phablet a possible device in its future lineup. For the time being, however, it is only a concept device.

I cropped this for my Galaxy Note 3 and it also works on my Note 5. The black vignetted edges allow the notifications bar to be seen more easily. I'm making this available through Creative Commons for others who want to use it on their phones.

The original Galaxy Note was a bit of an experiment by the guys over at Samsung, to see how the public would receive a hybrid of tablet and smartphone. Combining all the great functionality found inside a high-end Sammy handset into a chassis of larger proportions meant that users got the best of both worlds. And they liked it. blog.pre-pay-as-you-go.co.uk/2012/10/04/the-samsung-galax...
