DCR 56's 56311/56301 collecting 56038 from Kingsbury EMR scrap yard for over haul to mainline use. 56032 should have been collected as well, but was causing movement problems so had to be left on this day. To get to the class 56's former GIF 37's 37880/37884 had to be shunted out and back into Kingsbury EMR scrap metal merchants. Here being shunted back into Kingsbury EMR sidings. On Friday, PG&E replaced a transformer on our street. This presented an opportunity to see the work.

Les Ross owned, WCRC operated 86259 passing Atherstone station, Saturday 20th September 2025 with 1Z87 1418 Carlisle - London Euston via Settle and Carlisle railway, Cumbrian Mountain Express. A bit of a flutter with 1M17 bearing down (as can be seen at the rear of 1Z87) with 1Z87 doing 60mph and 1M17 100mph and all looking tight as the signals were passed from Grendon.
