The roots of their sound and message stem from Lauras diverse experience of growing up in South Africa and the American South. Formed in the summer of 2006, the band switches up the music between funk, progressive R&B, and pure SOUL behind Laura Reeds captivating stage presence.

Deze ultieme mafketel staat voor ‘pure funk’…alles op de eerste tel! “Make my funk the P-Funk, I want my funk uncut!” Onversneden en helemaal puur krijg je het van een pionier die met zijn bands Funkadelic en Parliament de grenzen van de funk verlegde. Bovendien is hij al vanaf de jaren ‘60 zo gek als een deur. Niet voor niets heet zijn laatste cd “How late do you have 2BB4UR absent?” Tegenwoordig wordt hij bijgestaan door The P-Funk Allstars, een kleurrijk, compromisloos rariteitenkabinet, dat muzikale democratie tot emotionele anarchie verheft en korte metten maakt met alles wat er zonder moet doen. Grote namen op poppodium De Vorstin tijdens Hilversum Alive

De programmeurs van poppodium De Vorstin (voorheen het Tagrijn) zijn er in geslaagd een aantal grote namen vast te leggen voor Hilversum Alive. Met grootheden als George Clinton, uitvinder van de P-Funk en inspiratiebron van Prince en Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Big Boy Hans Dulfer, de utlime limburgse feestband Rowen Heze, Top DJ's als Eric E, DJ Roog, MC Gee en latin sensatie Zuco 103 op het podium belooft de 9e editie van Hilversum Alive bij voorbaat al een fantastisch feest te worden.
