The super hard-boiled Detective Kogure is following the clues to find Bad Take-Out, the horrid killer behind the Mandarin Chicken Murders.
"I took the lead as I knew there'd be argument otherwise about the approach. I simply jumped into the well. I knew... or at least I figured, we weren't going to fall and hit water or bottom.
It was a warp. A dimensional gateway into You Don't Want To Be Here Land. The rest did as I hoped and followed suit.
We were immediately swarmed by spectral scourges. I was right to get help. I would have been torn apart alone. But Scully and the Ghostbusters boys were all out firepower.
Now, while this was going on, I looked across the alien terrain. I saw the exit.
This last part... I had to do alone."

It's been a while since I had time to play with my toys. Hooray for holiday weekends.
If Cobra can be headquartered in a Kre-O Terrordrome and Shredder can live in a Mega Bloks Technodrome, then I figured it was cool if the Playmobil Stay-Puft terrorized the Ghostbusters. He scales nicely, I think.

Holy smokes, this set is incredible! I haven't had this much fun with one of TLG's sets since... since like... a long time! I had a blast reliving the memories of watching the film for the first time (I watched it with the build) and despite making some minor tweaks to the figs, I really had nothing inherently bad to say about this model.
Anyway, I was so impressed with the car that I went a bit out of my norm to shoot her and the figs :)
LEGO Set 76097 comes with some new pieces that make for a great proton stream effect on the Ghostbusters. Hopefully LEGO isn't done with this license and we'll see them employed officially someplace soon.
Saturday night cruising in Paprihaven. The super hard-boiled Detective Kogure is following the clues to find Bad Take-Out, the horrid killer behind the Mandarin Chicken Murders and has arrived at the Market Street Chevron to find the Ghostbusters.
"Melnitz' information was correct.* I have to admit, their 59 Caddy is looking good. I pull in fast and hit the breaks so they will get a good look at my Nissan Fairlady Super Z."
"Ghostbusters!"
"Detective Kogure. You're smoking a cigarette right by the fuel pumps."
"Because that's where I'm standing, Egon. Agent Scully and I need your assistance."
"We're not keen on government agencies in the first place, and-"
"WHOA! Everyone look! An apparition right here at the Chevron! Grab the plasma packs!"
"That would be infinitely more dangerous here than a cigarette."
"Stand down! That's a phantasmal brain eater. It's with me. Under my control."
For the moment. Inevitably I will be free, and I will feast on all of you!
"Detective Kogure, you have our attention."
"And you have my attention, very special Agent Scully. They have a point. This is no place to have a conversation so, while they work out the details, let's you and I go for dinner at my place."
"Stop being ridiculous."
"You're right. Of course, we should make it your place. My place is at the hq, and that's no place to enjoy ourselves and get to know each other. Good thinking."

* As seen in day 5!
I did two bad guy group shots. Figured the heroes deserved one, too.
He-Man and Battle Cat, Lion-O, Matt Trakker, Leonardo, Peter Venkman, Snake Eyes, Marshal Bravestarr, Ace McCloud, and Optimus Prime
There are the sounds of laughter, the announcements of the next show at the Bijou Planks, and, of course, the singing of Christmas Carols.
Proton packs are great for minor hauntings, but some ghosts are too fast and/or too powerful to be chased down on foot. That's why the Ghostbusters developed the Ecto-4x4, a heavy-duty vehicle equipped with the Proton Trident – the single most powerful proton weapon in the Ghostbuster's arsenal.
But once a ghost in ensnared in the Proton Trident's beam, where do you put it? To solve that riddle, the Ghostbusters created the Speed Trap – a modified sports car with an ultra-sized Ghost Trap installed in the hood of the vehicle. When these two vehicles are on the road, no ghost is safe.
Bonus: The Ecto-4x4 can haul the Speed Trap on a customized trailer in between jobs.
As soon as I saw the new hair and goggles piece on the CMF Series 16 spy minifigure, I knew that it must belong to Ray Stanz.
Note how the Ecto-1 fits all the way inside with no furniture removal. There's still the problem of the doors opening inward. I'll get to that someday.
This is an alternate take of an older pic, but I've gotten a little better at this post-production stuff since the original upload. So, I figured I'd upload a new version since Afterlife is dropping.
Ecto-1 Instructions are available here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-50318/Flashback_Bricks/ecto-1/
I've been working on the concept for this one since the start of december.
My Wife and Son gave me the Ghostbusters Lego set for my birthday, I put it together and instantly came up with the idea for a light painting with a working theme of Don't cross the streams. (Making the streams Green instead of Orange and Blue) I wanted to create something using actual Ghostbusters ghosts but in a scene. I used an old cinema lego set and installed my Ghostbusters set to it acordingly, all that was missing was the ghosts, I chose a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from 1984 which was more then big enough to gain the effect I was looking for and a Funko Pop Slimer, I just liked the style. I put them in place and it all worked really well.
Then just came the fumbling around in the dark trying to put El Wire to the Ghostbusters proton packs. It was a long process and I did knock a few of the Lego men over and even my backdrop fell on to the scene. After a few tests shots it all looked great but there was a lot of empty negative space at the sides of the cinema, I often improvise on these bits and are not in the original plan, I got some ghosts from google on my phone and waved them in to the shot, theres a couple in there and another little easter egg if anyone can spot it? The final touch was the portal opening up above the cinema.
I'm quite happy with the end result and would like to do more in this area using Ghostbusters Lego and possible merge it with my other Lego light painting series.

Revisited my Ecto-1 with an eye towards making it look more like the official set, but still keeping it at the 6 stud wide x 20 stud long footprint that fits easily on LEGO road baseplates and inside the official Firehouse set without furniture removal.
I also added opening side doors inspired by set 75828 and a dashboard mount for the BrickForge PKE Meter, so the team can track ghosts on the go.
Well, one of them can track ghosts on the go. It still just holds one figure.
Not much to say. Just playing with my camera.
But, hey, as long as I have your attention, don't forget this Firehouse MOC is up on LEGO Ideas: ideas.lego.com/projects/97054
A friendly misunderstanding.
I did a version of this joke a couple of years back with Man-At-Arms paying the Ghostbusters to catch Orko. I still like it and I got new figures since then. Don't judge me.

Fred: You captured the ghost!
Ray: Only after your team led us to it! Great work!
Velma: Those Proton Packs are incredible! Positively charged ions to harness the ghost's negative energy?
Spengler: Yes. They're dangerously unstable nuclear devices. We may all die at any moment.
Daphne: So when do you unmask the ghost??
Ray: ... Unmask?...
Velma: It's gotta be old Mr. Hogforn, that creepy lighthouse keeper we met!
Venkman: So, Fred, what's the story on Daphne.
Fred: No story!
Venkman: Hm.
Winston: Shaggy, does Bustin make you feel good?
Shaggy: Like, bustin down a cheeseburger?
Scooby Doo: Rats right!

Day 3 of the Halloween Countdown features Kenner's Ghostbusters and Character Inc's Mystery Gang. Decorations include Halloween tombstones from Dollar General, webs from Hasbro's Spider-Man Mega City, and barrels from Playmates Toxic Avenger line. Oh, and some backpacks that are not official Ghostbusters. Raxldoze will call us out on that. 😪
Pete Venkman: We don't need these gears anymore...
Winston Zeddemore: But d'you know how to use the PokeBall?
"It's right here, Ray. It's looking at me."
This is either a marshmallow Peep, or unicorn droppings. Hard to say.
Happy Easter everyone!

The Ghostbusters Firehouse built in the scale of the Creator Bike Shop and Cafe. Not big enough to park the Ecto-1 in, but big enough to look neat on a road baseplate.
Inside we've got a containment unit, fire pole, and a small apartment suitable for one Ghostbuster.
Again, I have some details I want to refine on the inside as well, but I'm happy with the progress so far. Still, I welcome any feedback on it.

The Ghostbusters had a house warming party.
On the second floor, Peter got too wrapped up discussing weapons exchanges with He-Man to keep the usual suspects from taking a bite of the pink slime.
