Central Concrete is the only concrete mixing company I have seen in the San Francisco Bay Area that uses tractor trailer based mixer trucks. This is a Peterbilt 300 series tractor, the 300 line was introduced in 2004 and has been available in 325, 330, 335, 337 & 348 models. This rig is pulling a McNeilus SMS Sliding Mixer System trailer. McNeilus introduced these trailers in 1990, the rear tandem axles can slide backwards making the trailer longer and more stable for highway travel or shorter while maneuvering around the work site. Note the wide super single rear tires. Photographed by me in Fremont.
