The city remains an important distribution hub for companies such as Nestlé Purina PetCare, and is home to the U.S. Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station, the U.S. Geological Survey Astrogeology Science Center, and Northern Arizona University. Flagstaff has a strong tourism sector, due to its proximity to Grand Canyon National Park, Oak Creek Canyon, the Arizona Snowbowl, Meteor Crater, and Historic Route 66.

Oliver stands proudly on the hardwood floor, his full Maine Coon mix majesty on display. That incredibly fluffy tail is the star of the show—thick, bushy, and flowing with all the grandeur his breed is famous for. His luxurious coat shows beautiful color variations, from rich brown and ginger tones along his back to lighter cream and white underneath, all highlighted by natural window light streaming across the floor.
His green eyes gaze directly at the camera with that characteristic Maine Coon intelligence and curiosity. The classic tabby markings on his face—those distinctive stripes and the "M" pattern on his forehead—frame his expression perfectly. His tufted ears stand alert, and those impressive whiskers fan out in all directions, adding to his substantial, leonine appearance.
The overhead angle captures his full form beautifully, showing off the muscular build and substantial size that Maine Coon mixes are known for. Let's face it, nobody likes rectal thermometers. It had to be done as the vet wanted to see if Joey had a fever accompanying his sore throat.
I sighed in relief when his temperature was found to be normal. Joey and I both really needed a break as he had gone through a lot in his lifetime, with all of his countless vet visits and hospital stays. 😓

Pet owners are 60% more likely than non-pet owners to get to know people in their area, according to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
