Detail from a Banksia

A storm passing over Perths CBD, the huge cloud to ground bolts dwarfing the 250m tall skyscrapers. Taken from the river front at Attadale. The weird patterns are water from sprinklers that were going off in front of me!

I spotted this beautiful ironwork in Perth, Scotland. Love so much of the Victorian detail still around this lovely city.

26.033 drifts into Perth. The gentleman on the platform appears to be wearing a tartan suit, this was clearly de rigeur for the time which meant l must have been underdressed.

Perth on the 20th of January 1964 and with a Bristol Lodekka in the background we have Class 40 D233 Empress of England.

The 40 was new in september 1959 and a Crewe North loco at this time. Also in view is Stanier Black 5 44959 which I know was a Perth loco much earlier in life and guess it may still have been in 1964. It was new as 4959 to the LMS in May 1946 and withdrawn in July 1965 being cut up a few months later.

Sorry I haven't been commenting on anyone's photos. I had a trip to the Kimberley region of Western Australia in Aug/Sept. Since then I have been busy editing my photos so have had to ignore Flickr.

I'm not a city lover but I have to say Perth was very clean, lots of green spaces for people & I enjoyed my very short stay there.

Perth from the banks of the Tay at dusk.

Dawn at Lake Joondalup (Perth Western Australia) just before a whole lot of other photographers came along. Pretty sure I black carded the sky for one stop. Been fairly cool here recently so more people burning their fires - causing more sky refraction with colour. I hadn't repacked my bag properly so my gear wasn't in all the right places - my 5 in 1 "travel" reflector was translucent so didn't do what I wanted to do with it.
