Thank you for having the time to look threw my work.
Northern Harriers don't just hunt the marshes. This time of year they scour the sagebrush desert looking for mice and voles coming out of hibernation.
Gray Clouds
Permanent gray clouds hover near,
The rain that follows is what I fear.
I run for shelter but there is nothing here.
The showers don't start off small
Oh, life doesn't like me at all.
The things that bring me solace are slim
and my future in this world is looking pretty grim.
I will not let the clouds swallow me up
so instead I drown my sadness in a cup.
All I can do is wish for sun tomorrow
to hopefully dry up all my sorrow.

'The Cross', a hill-figure memorial, was constructed as a permanent testament to the sacrifice of those from the parish who died during the First World War. It was unveiled in September 1922 by Major-General Sir Arthur Lynden-Bell KCB KCMG DL JP (1867-1943). The memorial, which was designed by Mr C H Groom the village school headmaster, originally included an inscribed memorial stone within a separate fenced enclosure at the south end of the cross. The cross hill-figure was constructed by Mr Freddie Baldock with volunteers from the village, who excavated its form through the natural geology by hand.
To ease access for survivors and relatives of those fallen, the memorial stone was re-located in 1960 to the churchyard of St Mary's Church, Lenham (NHLE 1086103, Grade I), nearly 1km to the south-west. Following the Second World War, a second inscribed memorial stone was added and is located within the above churchyard. The re-located stones, which now stand on a plinth, are of roughly hewn granite with smoothed face-panels, inscribed with black lettering. These include the names of those fallen in both World Wars.
In 1977, the Ashford Branch of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) Association presented a wooden bench and a memorial plaque as additions to the separate stepped memorial enclosure, south of the cross. The hill-figure cross is maintained by volunteers from the village and was most recently restored with new chalk in 1994.

We arrived at our final destination, Nice. We rode the actual "Route des Grandes Alpes", from Thonon-les-Bains, through Cluses, Les Saisies, Beaufort, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Val-d'Isère, Col de L'Iseran, Col du Glibber, Cold du Lautaret, Briançon, Col d'izoard, Barcelonnette, Col de Cayolle, and finally to Nice.
I rode 1,000km, and climbed over 30,000metres, or 98,000 feet. That is like climbing three full Everest. A challenging, but fantastic trip.
This is Place Messéna in Nice, a large square in the centre of old Nice. If you are wondering what this buddha looking statue is doing there, it's one of seven, and part of a permanent monumental art display on the Place, and represents the seven continents.

A panoramic photo of beautiful Salmon Bay on Rottnest Island in Western Australia; unbelievably the beach was almost deserted. The Wadjemup Lighthouse can be seen across the bay on the far shore.
Rottnest Island is 18 kilometres (11 mi) off the Western Australian coast, very slightly north of due west from Fremantle. It is called Wadjemup by the Noongar people, meaning "place across the water". The island is 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) long, and 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) at its widest point. Rottnest Island has been a popular local holiday destination for over 50 years. The Western Australian vernacular diminutive is "Rotto". No private ownership of land is allowed. The island was given the name "Rotte nest" (meaning "rat nest" in the 17th century Dutch language) by Dutch captain Willem de Vlamingh who spent six days exploring the island from 29 December 1696, mistaking the quokkas for giant rats.

we've travelled to romania to explore life and culture of real romani people in the modern age. often vilified as "gypsys" these people are known for being nomads without any permanent residence.
in ocna sibiului someone told us, that the little village rusciori ("reußdörfchen" in german) might be a good place to get in contact, since it's predominantly populated by them. not knowing what to expect, we arrived sceptical, since almost everyone we talked to was warning us not to approach any "gypsis". after leaving the car though, we were surrounded by a crowd of friendly strangers in a heartbeat and the children of the village were psyched to be in front of the camera requesting their own personal shoot. i certainly needed no second invitation and gladly took the chance to capture the mood.

LKAB Malmtrafik (earlier Malmtrafik i Kiruna AB, MTAB): this private company, subsidiary of Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (LKAB), operates the trains that transport the iron ore extracted from the Swedish mines of Kiruna, Svappavaara and Malmberget to the ports of Narvik in Norway, and Luleå in Sweden. To tow these trains, the company has 34 IORE electric locomotives of six axes, 180 tons of weight (30 tons per axle), a power of 5,400 kW and a single driving cabin, which are permanently coupled in pairs (total power of 10,800 kW). Each pair of locomotives hauls trains with 68 hopper wagons that, when loaded, have a weight of 8.600 tons. The company has 750 of these four-axle hoppers, which support a maximum weight of 30 tons per axle.
In this picture we see the two IORE locomotives 102 "Malmberget" and 117 "Boden" towing an empty iron ore train from Luleå to the mine of Malmberget, near Gällivare.

This livery was originally one of the 'World Tails' (Chatham Historic Dockyard) and you can see on this shot, it has 'United Kingdom' titles on the nose. This eventually became the standard British Airways livery.
First flown in Oct-92, this aircraft was delivered to British Airways as G-DOCS in Dec-92. It was in service with British Airways for almost 21.5 years before being parked at London-Gatwick in Jun-14.
It was ferried to Victorville, CA, USA a week later and permanently retired. The aircraft was last noted still stored at Victorville in Oct-16. Updated 12-Nov-22.

Canada Permanent Trust Building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is an Art Deco structure built between 1928 and 1930. It was designed by the architect Henry Sproatt. The 18-floor office building is located at 320 Bay Street and was built by F. Hilton Wilkes.
The building is designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act since November 26, 1975. There is also a heritage easement agreement on the building, Registered C440805, since January 7, 1988. The building has a heritage designation plaque to inform the public, placed in 1978.
The Canada Permanent Trust Building is designated to be of architectural value as being one of the finest highrise bank buildings of its period in Canada. Designed using the simplified classical forms of the Style Moderne, it combines an emphasis on its vertical height appropriate to its basic form, with the impressive vaulted banking hall, characteristic of bank buildings at the beginning of the Century. The building is also important as a part of the Bay Street canyon of high-rise buildings that has come to be regarded as symbolic of Toronto's financial quarter."
