During Mass with Bishop David Walkowiak on Sunday, Nov. 4 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, ten men of our diocese were admitted to candidacy for the permanent diaconate. This was the first formal step along their path to becoming deacons for the Church. Family and friends, deacons and concelebrating priests were also present for the celebration.

Determinação de Área de Preservação Permanente (APP) de Topo de Morro Estabelecida pelo art. 2º do Código Florestal e Regulamentada pela Resolução Conama 303/2002
Este curso tem como objetivo apresentar a metodologia para determinação de Área de Preservação Permanente de topo de morro e de montanha em relevos planos e ondulados, em conjunto de morros/montanhas e em linha de cumeada na forma regulamentada pela Resolução CONAMA 303/2002.
Conteúdo Programático:
• Histórico da área de preservação permanente (APP) na legislação florestal
• Delimitação da APP de topo de morro ou montanhas em relevos planos
• Delimitação da APP de topo de morro ou montanhas em relevos ondulados
• Delimitação da APP de conjunto de morros ou montanhas
• Delimitação da APP de morros ou montanhas em linha de cumeada
Metodologia: Aulas teóricas e práticas. Na parte prática serão aplicadas em cópia de carta topográfica (Carta do IGC/Terrafoto) as delimitações das diversas situações da APP de topo de morro/montanha e linha de cumeada.
Perfil dos participantes/Pré-requisitos: Profissionais de nível superior com conhecimento mínimo de cartografia.
Obs.: O participante deverá trazer escalímetro, calculadora, lápis e borracha.

Agrônomo (ESALQ-USP) e mestre em Engenharia Civil na área de Hidráulica e Saneamento (EESC – USP).
Trabalhou para a Secretaria do Meio Ambiente do Estado de São Paulo de 1989 a 2011, atuando como: prestador de serviços autônomo (1989 a 1994); Técnico do DEPRN - Departamento Estadual de Proteção de Recursos Naturais (1994 a 1998); Supervisor de Equipe Técnica do DEPRN (1998 a 2005); Diretor da Regional Sudoeste Paulista do DEPRN (2005 a 2009); e Gerente de Divisão de Apoio IV - em Conservação da CETESB - Companhia Ambiental do Estado de São Paulo (2009 a 2011).
Coordenou o grupo técnico que desenvolveu a decisão diretoria nº 148/2010 da CETESB que dá a orientação para a demarcação de APP de Topo de Morro e participou como representante da SMA/SP no Grupo de Trabalho do CONAMA sobre Definição dos conceitos de 'topo de morro' e de 'linha de cumeada' referidos na Resolução CONAMA nº 303/02.

Comissão Mista Permanente sobre Migrações Internacionais e Refugiados (CMMIR) realiza reunião semipresencial para instalação da comissão e eleição do presidente e vice-presidente.
A CMMIR fiscaliza e monitora movimentos migratórios nas fronteiras do Brasil e os direitos dos refugiados.
