Molenaarsgraaf is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Molenlanden, and lies about 11 km west of Gorinchem.
In 2001, the village of Molenaarsgraaf had 414 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.041 km², and contained 143 residences. The statistical area "Molenaarsgraaf", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1110.
Molenaarsgraaf was a separate municipality until 1986, when it became part of Graafstroom.] Latterly it has been part of Molenwaard since 2013.
As the name implies, the Graafstroom is actually a dug canal, in the Dutch municipality of Molenlanden (province of South Holland), between Vuilendam and Hofwegen with a length of 6 kilometers. In the Middle Ages, the middle of the Alblasserwaard was a raised moor area that was difficult to reach and therefore only developed later. In the second half of the 13th century, a connection was made between two peat rivers: the Goudriaan and the Alblas. The former upper course of the Alblas was thus straightened out. The Graafstroom, after which the former municipality of Graafstroom was named, turns into the Alblas between Bleskensgraaf and Oud-Alblas, at the height of the Wijngaardeseweg. West of Oud-Alblas, the Alblas has a large bend to the north and back to the south, which is cut off by the Nauwe Alblas. The river eventually flows into the North at Alblasserdam.

Series »Winter's Bone«
Mirror shot in my Air B&B April 2023. There were two mirrors opposite each other on either side of the roof dormer in our room, so you are actually seeing in the reverse direction of the lens . It made for an interesting angle to show the street view and my lens reflection simultaneously so I couldn't resist giving it an opportunity. Uniquely there is only one window in the area but the mirrors give the impression of two, both with their individual views. I was quite pleased with the peculiar results. I tried so hard to show more of the street lamp but it was not to be while maintaining the straight lines , squared window frame and the reflection on the lens. This was our second afternoon in Lisbon on our trip through Portugal having departed Porto. I was trying to share something unusual I had seen in my peripheral vision on this occasion and this was as close as I could accomplish. When I tried moving the camera higher in the tight position I lost all the magic. I realized there is no defined focal point within the image and the subject is entirely the illusion itself. So confusing for the eye that the lens appears to be aiming away from it's image captured.
*Yellow is the most visible color of the spectrum.
*The human eye processes yellow first. This explains why it is used for cautionary signs and emergency rescue vehicles.
*Peripheral vision is 2.5 times higher for yellow than for red.
Peripherally flitting by,
I caught a glimpse of something bright,
a shimmer like the stars at night,
a dancing, daring damselfly.
She swooped above me in an arc,
and came to rest right on my shoulder;
what a vision, to behold her
eyes so large and dark.
She was there to speak in whisper-
She lingered with me sping and summer,
while I tried hard to become her
friend; she left. And now I miss her.

"...Ne me quitte pas
Je ne vais plus pleurer
Je ne vais plus parler
Je me cacherai lÃ
À te regarder danser et sourire et
À t'écouter chanter et puis rire
Laisse-moi devenir
L'ombre de ton ombre
L'ombre de ta main
L'ombre de ton chien
Ne me quitte pas

Tragopogon dubius (yellow salsify, western salsify, western goat's-beard, wild oysterplant, yellow goat's beard, goat's beard, goatsbeard, common salsify, salsify), Asteraceae family.
It is a species of salsify native to southern and central Europe and western Asia and found as far north and west as northern France.
Like most salsifies, the western salsify grows as an annual or occasionally biennial forb, reaching a height of typically 20–60 cm but sometimes almost a metre. It grows typically in warm, sheltered spots with moist soil. Its yellow flower head is 4–6 cm in diameter and is likely to be seen in late spring or early summer. Buds are blue-green, tall, and tapered. The inflorescence opens early in the morning and often closes up by late afternoon.
🌞Later the plant forms a seed head that resembles that of the dandelions but is distinctly larger.
The seeds themselves (known as achenes) are 2–4 cm long but featherweight, weighing about 8 mg each on average. There is some natural variation between the central and peripheral achenes in the seedhead, with the peripheral ones being generally darker and heavier, and having a higher concentration of phenolic compounds; this may enhance their survival potential.
