I love exploring, discovering new places, and capturing those moments with my camera. It is a hobby that I have both in RL and SL. In one of these explorations I discovered this site with a friend. It has several places that can be visited, but Oasis fascinated me above all because of how it has captured the sensation of desert dust and the light tinged with golden and greenish tones. It is a place to take photos but also to chat, explore the many corners it offers and feel that, for a few hours, you are not in front of a screen.

I got due south and under the storm. I had the perfect ambient light. It was surreal. Tons of cc & cg lightning strikes were contentious.

We had our first "real" snowstorm today. There was about an inch, but it's warm, so it's melting. Still, more snow is forecast for the next few days. They call it "lake effect" snow. I'm not sure how that differs from other snow, but apparently the weather patterns are dictated somehow by the Finger Lakes and the Great Lakes.
My new Nikon D300 arrived and this is the beginning of big lens shots. Yesterday at 9:15 in the morning the moon was extremely bright, the sky was clear and the sun was perfect. Clicked once and this is my happy weekend photo, folks. I am now off to the Everglades for some nature time. Viewed large, some good detail. My 200mm lens becomes 300mm on a digital camera and a 2x quantaray addition gives me 600mm to get this picture. View On Black
I was sitting in the house when I heard the call of this pileated. At first it sounded far away so I didn't think too much of it, but the call kept on coming so I grabbed my camera and ventured into the backyard.
Well, wouldn't you know it, this guy was only over a couple houses and was happy to pose while I snapped a couple shots.
Thank you Mr. Pileated, I didn't have any other photos that I liked for the day so your visit was perfect!

One of the beautiful Dogwood trees at Robinwood Lake, taken in the late afternoon at golden time. The Dogwood Flower is the State Flower of NC and it's a spectacle this time of year. Happy fenced Friday. ^_^
We go way back. i remember the night at the Mercury when he just walked off the stage half way through “esqueletos”. i don’t recall the exact why of it. A mix of frayed band egos, middle of a messy divorce, drugs, alcohol . . . . . shake and pour. i thought it was pretty interesting. Raw. Out of control. Part of what makes it worth seeing people perform live. Memorable.
Sometimes i do the math. i’ve walked up to my front door how many thousands of times? It just sounds weird to me to say it like that. i guess that’s how the mind prevents itself from drowning in the retention of endless detail. We just don’t remember. Not to mention there’s that whole line of thought about how we’re not really all that present to the moment anyways . . .

Location: Farm dam near Durbanville.
Description: Yessssiree... this is the first Vertorama taken with my new Nikon D300!!
A new weapon calls for a new subject, so I took a drive early this morning along a road that I’ve never been on before. I passed two farms before I reached the perfect subject to test my new toy... a dam right at the edge of a huge fog-bank! As the sun was rising, so the mist was clearing... it was all looking very promising...
I didn’t have to wait too long before the light was just perfect!
