The birds do not seem to mind all of the wet weather we have been having. This male Scarlet Tanager made the most of the moment with a refreshing pool stop. Wish we could keep them longer, but they will only be here for about a month and then will continue their trip North.

This Image that won me a gold medal in the IPF National finals in Mullingar today 14th May 2017 and helped the Malahide Camera Club win 2nd place overall in the finals,
Day 1 of 20 of albums that influenced my musical tastes. I'll start with Standing on a Beach. I remember listening this CD everyday in my high school years, in my house or in my friend's room, feeding our minds with these dark sounds and some bright musical notes, creating our perfect soundtrack for the teenager.
The album was titled Staring at the Sea in CD format in some countries is the first greatest hits album by the English band the Cure, released in the United States on 15 May 1986 by Elektra Records and in the United Kingdom on 19 May 1986 by Fiction Records, marking a decade since the band's founding in 1976. Autumn and low evening sun can create moments of magic, as here on Seterhaugen above Nordviksetra last night.
For me, such pictures are about recreating some of the feeling I had when the picture was taken and transmitting that feeling to those who see the pictures.
These two photos, "Perfect view 1 & 2", were taken from the same place, but with two different lenses. The one with a wide angle to capture as much of the landscape as possible. The other with a telephoto lens to go closer with a more defined section.
The pictures are totally different, and here is something that gives me inspiration to work with photography, that you can always "paint" and compose your own pictures in a creative interaction with the surroundings.

I went to the Robert C Levy Tunnel (also called Broadway Tunnel) in San Francisco with the intent to do long exposures of cars in the tunnel. Those photos did not turn out that well. Walking back towards the exit I noticed the reflections in the tiled wall. Perfect serendipity!
I took a long exposure, then processed a balanced HDR photo from it.

The Nubble Lighthouse, in Cape Neddick, Maine, is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the United States.
Autumn also brings a lot of changes to the birds, and very noticeable is the one on the finches that completely lose their bright yellow plumage to a mix of very dull green-yellowish that makes us to take a second look.
Right now here in PA the rain has started and many trees have lost their leaves, but they still have a unique charm specially at the end of a sunny day. The wind has move from place to place tons of leaves that are forming colorful skirts which now makes it difficult to know from which tree were originally from.
This image had only a white background so I decided to merge a second one with autumn leaves.
