Macro Mondays - Condiments

#macromondays #condiments
I decided to take a shot of this multicoloured peppercorns to participate on the upcoming them called condiments. So what you see are multiple different peppercorns such as black, white, green and red pepper.
A condiment is a preparation that is added to food, typically after cooking, to impart a specific flavor, to enhance the flavor,[1] or to complement the dish. A table condiment or table sauce is more specifically a condiment that is served separately from the food and is added to taste by the diner.
The exact definition of a condiment varies. Some definitions encompass spices and herbs, including salt and pepper, using the term interchangeably with seasoning. Others restrict the definition to include only "prepared food compound[s], containing one or more spices", which are added to food after the cooking process, such as mustard, ketchup or mint sauce.

Unfortunately, in this season the remaining pink peppercorns are not completely pink anymore.
In any case, I hope that you will like the result!

For this week’s Macro Mondays ‘Member's Choice - Found In The Kitchen’ theme, I have chosen to photograph some turmeric and peppercorns.
I’m afraid for this week I have resorted to the obvious; spices. In our house, we are avid fans of eastern cuisine, and there are an assortment of spices to be found in the cupboards and spices racks. I have to say, we are very partial to the wonderful array of asian foods!
A simple set up this week: one single Bowens Gemini studio strobe, flagged accordingly !! Post processing in Photoshop and Lightroom CC as usual.

Peppercorn and Callie
Peppercorn is just an affection sponge, but oddly enough, Callie (in front), rarely is that friendly with any of our other cats! This was a rare and sweet moment!
Callie is sister to our Nigel and Ollie, who came to us when a friend passed away. T

Another collaborative effort with my daughters' help. My younger daughter helped with the background and my older daughter gifted me these beautiful peppercorns.
I'm trying to get comfortable in working in color so expect more color intense images as I explore this area. I usually shy away from color as I find it challenging so how best to deal with it than in extremes?
