Turns out this old pen is described as "vintage" on the Intranet. I'm not sure if it would still release "free flowing black ink" so I used a Pentel brush pen here.

I had to go into Hospital last Thursday for a Cataract Op. Have had a sore eye for ages and ages and put it off because I had a lot more to be concerned about than that. It turned out it was damaged. I drew this, looking through the window of my room, whilst waiting to go into theatre. Pencil, fine gel pen and a new Pentel Brushpen, which I loved using. This was the first time I'd tried it..very flexible and yielding..calligraphic.

The Pentel brush pen gives me an excuse for messing up people's faces. What I really like is sketching the ones in the background because I don't have to worry that they will see what I've done -- and it somehow makes it easier to capture their essence when they are farther away.

I'm one of that people that dislikes Christmas, I can't remember when it began to be an effort for me instead of a pleasure, so this year that's been specially difficult for me I decided to celebrate it dedicating one day of Christmas holidays to every good thing that has happened to me during last year.

Urban Sketching had to have it's special festivity so I asked my fellow usk Feliu Renom to join him on his walks around his quarter and make our first sketchcrawl, it's been a luxury to have a guide like him, I had a great time getting to know more El Terreno and I used for the first time the water filled brushes, (Feliu's ones). I feel more reconciled with Christmas now.

Soy una de esas personas a las que no le gusta la Navidad, ni siquiera puedo recordar cuando empezó a ser un esfuerzo en lugar de un placer, así que este año que ha sido especialmente difícil para mi he decidido celebrarla dedicando un día de las vacaciones de navidad a cada una de las cosas buenas que me han pasado durante el último año.

USK tenía que tener su festividad personal así que le pedí a mi compañero usk Feliu Renom unirme a él en sus paseos por su barrio y hacer nuestro primer sketchcrawl, ha sido un lujo tener un guía como él, me lo he pasado genial descubriendo El Terreno y me he esteenado en el uso de los pinceles rellenos de agua ( los de Feliu). Ahora me siento más reconciliada con la Navidad.
