Captured in 2014 at a more peaceful time in our country. VIew is of the north side from Lafayette Square.
A Honda leaves Conrail Shared Assets local YPMO-R1 and it's pair of GP38-2s in it's wake as the pair share Delmorr Ave in Morrisville, PA in the middle of a heavy rainstorm. This photo really illustrates the poor fall foliage season this year with mostly greens and browns in view.
La strada dalla Pennsylvania Station sembrava attraversasse il. continente. come se non tornasse più all'indietro ma andasse sempre avanti ad occidente ..

It's been a while since I haven't ventured over to Morrisville for the Staley local, so here is MO-R1 headed off for Staley after working Toll Brothers, passing the most photographed Dairy Queen in the tristate area. The CSX geep is a former B&O unit.
After the Cherry Blossom Parade in downtown DC, I highly commend the Japanese Street Festival along Pennsylvania Avenue. The best part for me, connecting with my friend,
Toshio. The weather was amazing and the streets were packed, but we had a good time.
From the website:
The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival is the largest one-day exhibition of Japanese culture in the United States.
Japanese food and beer, sake, music and dance, arts and crafts, anime and manga, taiko drums, samurai swordsmen, ikebana and bonsai, karate, judo, sumo, aikido, sudoku. No matter what, if it’s Japanese, it’s at the Sakura Matsuri.
In the second image, I like the giant inflatable dog obeying the one way sign.
I guess I should mention: this was taken during the Parade, not the street festival!
For as many times as I've shot at this location, this is the first time I managed to catch a pair of CSX geeps in the lead. Here, Conrail Shared Assets local MO-R1 heads for A.E. Staley with a 17 car train with a former B&O GP40-2 leading a former Western Maryland geep past he Morrisville, PA Dairy Queen.
With much of the NS fleet used by COnrail not PTC/ACSES equipped, CSX power has become more prevalent on local jobs out of Morrisville Yard. Here, a pair of GP40-2s lead a 17 car MO-R1 on the Delmorr Ave street running before arriving at A.E. Staley about a 1/4 mile behind the photographer.
Conrail Shared Assets local YPMO-R1 makes it way alongside Delmoor Ave in Morrisville, PA after working the A.E. Staley plant just south of this location.
As the power for CSAO BS02 sits on the Northeast Corridor Bridge overhead, NS EMD GP40-2 #3044 leads a 10 car YPMO-33 towards A.E. Staley on "The Old Line" street running. Three different EMD models are seen in this photo as along with the former Conrail GP40-2 on YPMO-33, power for BS02 is a former Reading SW1001 and a former Penn Central GP38-2.
The Old Post Office Pavilion was all lit up this morning with a flurry of activity for Trumps new DC hotel which is scheduled to open tomorrow. On weeknights this fall, the hotel's least expensive rooms will go for between $735 and $995 a night. No premier restaurant either! Wow
Even with a draw like ice cream, CSAO's local to A.E. Staley always grabs the crowd's attention as the pass by, this time with a pair of NS Geeps running long hood forward through Morrisville, PA crossing Delmorr Ave. The train is starting to accelerate after slowing for a car blocking the crossing.
Conrail Shared Assets local YPMO-R1 makes it's way back to Morrisville Yard along side Market St in Morrisville, PA. The train climbs a bit of a hill coming up from Delmoor Ave as seen by the tanks cars at the end of the train dropping out of the scene.
Conrail Shared Assets local MO-R1 heads back for Morrisville Yard, rolling through downtown Morrisville, PA behind a former Western Maryland deep and a former B&O geep.
Norfolk Southern EMD GP38-2 #5285 see it's reflection as it passes the Dairy Queen on Delmoor Ave in Morrisville, PA.
After making their drop at A.E. Staley, CSAO local YPMO-R1 heads back for Morrisville Yard behind a pair of GP38-2s. Clearly not mainline trackage, this local uses the former Pennsylvania Railroad's "Old Line".
At the root of creativity is an impulse to understand, to make sense of random and often unrelated details. For me, photography provides an intersection of time, space, light, and emotional stance. One needs to be still enough, observant enough, and aware enough to recognize the life of the materials, to be able to 'hear through the eyes. - Paul Caponigro

Nearing the end of the street-running section of track in Morrisville, PA, CSAO local YPMO-R1 is about to pass under Amtrak's Northeast Corridor on the return to Morrisville Yard.
Conrail Shared Assets local YPMO-R1 heads back for Morrisville Yard with a pair of EMD GP38-2 and a short 6 car train of empties from A.E. Staley as my son captures the scene on video on his tablet. Some 35 years ago, my first camera was a small 35mm film camera. Now in 2017, he can instantly see his work on his device. Times change, but the heart of the hobby remains the same...
After spending most of the week in D.C on business (I returned home Thursday night) and experiencing the snow storm on Wednesday, I decided to drive back on Saturday to participate in the March For Our Lives rally.
First off, notice all the snow is gone.
Second, I have never seen so many people in one place (I saw a shot from space and the estimate was at 800,000 people) and so many porta-johns (but I digress). The passion in these students restored my belief that maybe, just maybe we can return our Gov't back to the people and out of the hands of the special interest groups (read that as NRA). Time will tell...
Some of these pics and a few others will get posted so you can read the small print. anyone care to guess what I've been working on today.
I really like this city, when you don't have the hustle and bustle its pretty awesome.

After working the A.E. Staley plant in Morrisville, PA, Conrail Shared Assets local YPMO-R1 heads back for Morrisville Yard. The train is passing under Amtrak's Northeast Corridor bridge to Trenton, NJ, which, according to the marker above the lead engine, was built in 1902.
"The Staley Local" heads back to Morrisville Yard as it parallels Delmoor Ave in Morrisville, PA with a rare CSX YN2 Geep in the lead. Amtrak's Northeast Corridor bridge and the US 1 bridge are visible behind the train.
The conductor on YPMOR-1 tosses a flare out the window as the train is seen crossing Pennsylvania Ave in Morrisville, PA on a bitter cold January morning.
The morning after the biggest snowfall of 2017, Conrail Shared Assets local YPMOR-1 heads off to Staley with a Norfolk Southern Operation Life Saver GP38-2 (former Southern high-hood GP38AC) and a CSX GP38-2, originally a Penn Central unit, for power. This makes two weeks in a row that this job has used CSX units for power.

A former B&O GP40-2 shoves a cut of cars into the Toll Brothers siding in Morrisville, PA. With the ramp to US Rt 1 South, Pennsylvania Ave, and the entrance to the Quality Inn all converging at this location, it is a busy place that the crews need to be aware of while working Toll Brothers.
