Pendulum "The Unseen Impact" is the theme for our first TEDxDamanhur event for 2016. This year we decided to choose topics about the backstage process which nobody knows about it, but everyone knows the final stage thinking it's easy to reach this stage. Hope you enjoy our photos.

A solar powered pendulum that I made. Based on a design from Solarbotics
The circuit was so simple I didn't bother making a PCB. It's just wired point-to-point style
Cabinet with pendulum clock
mahogany feather and inlays work central door with cut glass
cm 202x86x36
Item 173
Came across this
and gave it a try.
Next I'm going to make it a double pendulum and change the weight ratios to get cooler patterns.
Since the bob travels in a circular path, x2 + y2 = L2
and C is the distance between the points (x,y) and (0,-L)
which is ( )x-02+( )y-(-L) 2 = x2+( )y+L2
= L2-y2 +( )y+L2 = 2L2+2Ly = 2L L+y
Thus, it is no surprise that the plot of the chord length as a function of horizontal
displacement is the plot of the square root function given above.
