A number of years ago, my brother sent me this piece of titanium slag and I heated it up, like any jeweler girl would, with my Little Torch to give it some color. This is the inspiration for the Wall Hanging. The pendulum is an aventurine donut, agate painted turtle, tied to a quartz sphere in a cage I made. Indeed, it circles for yep and straight for nope, and it really works.
Foucault Pendulum
«The Foucault pendulum, named after the French physicist Léon Foucault, is a simple device conceived as an experiment to demonstrate the rotation of the Earth. While it had long been known that the Earth rotated, the introduction of the Foucault pendulum in 1851 was the first simple proof of the rotation in an easy-to-see experiment.»

This shows the pendulum of the bell up on the campanile in Siena,Italy. After climbing what felt like 10000 steps it was kinda hard to hold the camera, but finally I got the picture..I love the fact that there are words written inside the bell, the contrasting colours of bell and leathern pendulum and its graphic potential.

Seikosha RA Pendulum Wall Clock made in Japan. SEIKO is the name of this company today. This clock probably dates to the early 1900's. It is a rare item. The crown is a replacement part and is possibly German made.

I'm not really sure where I'm going in terms of photography, this week I spent a lot of time experimenting with editing but I don't really know if I ever reach something particularly good.. Oh well, it's just difficult to come up with great new ideas all the time I guess. I'm getting back into movies again now what with making another short film, so maybe I'll do a series of cinema-inpsired pictures..

To quote the late great Spike Milligan:
"String.
String, is a very important thing.
Rope is thicker,
but string is quicker.
P.S. The meaning of this is obscure,
but that's why.
The higher the fewer"
