Unlike other pens such as a fountain pen or crowquill pen the ink is less messy and does not bleed as much. The ink is instead distribute through the small ball at the tip of the pen which helps manage ink distribution more without difficulty. There are many intricate pictures produced by shading and the creating of many tones through techniques that are very similar to a pencil drawing. Not only is black ballpoint pen ink being used, various color inks have been as well. Subject matters for this type of art consist of portraits, sketches, still-life's, landscapes, abstracts and ect. The most prolific ballpoint pen artist, publisher, video producer and information provider Jerry Stith,[1] is known for pushing in the whole new movement of using ballpoint pens as a medium for illustrating and drawing period. He has produced 3,750 of his own art pieces using this medium and is still continuing as of 2011. The movement itself has been going on for some time and is picking up speed even now. Thanks to his enthusiasm in this new form of art many amazing artist such as Babis Kiliaris, Juan F. Casas, Virginia Rodriguez Cañete, Andrey Hrenov and Shirish Deshpande [2] have appeared in the art world. I have decided to add on a few of the drawings I do. I know they are not photos but I don't think it really matters? I like using black pen on thick white paper or card. I have found that a pack of 38p blank postcards are the best type of material to write on, are cheap and are easy to carry around! One thing to mention is that I can only draw inanimate objects, not human beings or animals as, for some reason, I find these hard to draw.
Easily one of my favourite drawings I have done to date. I like the shadows made by my little lamp. I really enjoyed drawing this picture. My favourite drawing is on an A3 piece of paper and is too big to scan! Oh well.

Sunflowers for Vincent van Gogh - Ocubo
Une mer de tournesols, se balancant au gre du vent.
For a moment you feel as if you were looking at a painting by Vincent van Gogh. As you come closer, you will see that these are lanterns made according to Chinese traditions. This luminous work of art is a tribute to the painter who, during his stay in Arles, France, painted 69 sunflowers, and regarded those sunflowers as lanterns.
Developed in 2019 for GLOW Eindhoven, the work was also exhibited at the Qinhuai International Lantern Festival 2020 in Nanjing. It was there that the work was constructed under the direction of Gu Yeliang, a famous artist known for his lanterns. The work was created in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and Van Gogh Brabant. The sunflowers are currently owned by the OCUBO studio, which specialises in light and cultural projects in public spaces.

The most prolific ballpoint pen artist, publisher, video producer and information provider Jerry Stith,[1] is known for pushing in the whole new movement of using ballpoint pens as a medium for illustrating and drawing period. He has produced 3,750 of his own art pieces using this medium and is still continuing as of 2011. The movement itself has been going on for some time and is picking up speed even now. Thanks to his enthusiasm in this new form of art many amazing artist such as Babis Kiliaris, Juan F. Casas, Virginia Rodriguez Cañete, Andrey Hrenov and Shirish Deshpande [2] have appeared in the art world. Not only are the many artworks created with this medium made for just amusement they are being placed in exhibits such as the one by the Korean artist Il Lee, who will display his abstract drawings at The Crow Collection of Asian Art located in Dallas, Texas on April 8, 2011.[3]

Ballpoint Pen Drawings are a form of art that consist of the usage of a ballpoint pen in a way similar to an average pencil except that the results are more permanent. The medium itself is considered to be easier to purchase when compared to other artistic materials. It is also a tool that any level of artist can use. Unlike other pens such as a fountain pen or crowquill pen the ink is less messy and does not bleed as much. The ink is instead distribute through the small ball at the tip of the pen which helps manage ink distribution more without difficulty. There are many intricate pictures produced by shading and the creating of many tones through techniques that are very similar to a pencil drawing.
