Ten scholars in the social sciences, humanities and creative arts will present their research at an event hosted by the Office of the Vice-Principal (Research) using the PechaKucha format. PechaKucha has each presenter deliver 20 slides for 20 seconds each, making for information-dense but fast-moving presentations.

There are so many innovative people on the East End, it could take years of social research to discover everyone. The objective of PechaKucha is to introduce the creative community to each other through a series of short format slide presentations.
As the official site for the Hamptons, we join over 500 cities globally in hosting “PechaKucha Nights,” named for the sound of “chit-chat” in Japanese. The format is simple: each invited presenter gets 20 slides x 20 seconds per slide to talk about "living creatively on the East End."

I have memories of spending time in grade school restrooms staring at the tile and wondering “Are the tiles arranged randomly or is there a repeating pattern” As an adult and a parent, this childhood experience is interesting to me in how it informs our choosing a design profession and our choices as designers.

This is NOT a positive-negative pattern. It’s a pattern titled “Dress I Saw at Church.”

kpf pechakucha night - pleasure to have been involved. its a bit daunting to somehow put 5 years into 20 slides... but i think the talk supports the images... or visa versa. anyhow, look out for the video coming soon!
