Above the Wisconsin River reflections of the large Verso paper mill complex in Wisconsin Rapids, an early morning Canadian National switch job is crossing the old Green Bay & Western bridge for work on the east side of town.

This scene reminded me of how the Paper Industry, Railroads, and this River have been intertwined in this area for well over a century now.

On the final day of a road trip up to the Duluth-Superior area and back with my Son Justin, this was one of the last images we captured (my previous 19 posts were all from this same six day adventure), and we thought that this shot was a fine way to finish out one of the best photography outings we have ever logged. – October 10th, 2016 ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

Most of the snow has melted. A lot of my neighbors don't have water. Some were gathering snow from the drifts and melting it to get water. I'm still having to boil the water before using it. The weather's warming up. The Internet is coming in and out and there still isn't a lot of food or bottled water in the grocery stores. The roads are clear, only because the sun melted the ice and snow because we don't have snow plows.

I decided to take a different route on my evening walk when I discovered this scene. It's another section of the old golf course close to my house.

lost another favorite musician today. i remember being disgusted with 70's music, a bunch of us 60's babies used to call it "canned music" becuz it didn't seem like it was as innovative but i had a buddy who insisted we listen to the Eagles and we fell in love with them. great vocals, lyrics and guitar. loved the guitar. nothing formula about them. now i look back and it is so much of the landscape of my youth. ba-bye glenn. you left us with so much, we really can't complain. hope you are looking down at us and sending the love.

There was peaceful vibes in this beautiful town This church was built in 1876 and it was quite visible from all directions. It had beautiful architecture and has lasted all these years. two of my daughters went with me for a weekend getaway in the quaint little town of Occidental. They have quite a few historic buildings and lots of history. We enjoyed browsing some of the little shops and eating some really great food. They have quite a bit to offer in such a small town. The weather was really cold, and it was storming, but it was worth the trip as it was beautiful and fun and wonderful to be with my girls.
