There is hardly a better place in my area to enjoy a perfect Autumn day than the open-air -museum in Detmold. We spent a whole day in beautiful sunshine without a cloud in this lovely location.

The LWL-Freilichtmuseum in Detmold is a great place to learn and experience the world of our ancestors. The open-air-museum is covered with buildings, tools, animals and plants of countryside life in Northwest Germany in the last couple of centuries. An endless source of inspiration for HDR photography.

It's a dream to wander into the ancient streets of this village.

Most of the snow has melted. A lot of my neighbors don't have water. Some were gathering snow from the drifts and melting it to get water. I'm still having to boil the water before using it. The weather's warming up. The Internet is coming in and out and there still isn't a lot of food or bottled water in the grocery stores. The roads are clear, only because the sun melted the ice and snow because we don't have snow plows.

I decided to take a different route on my evening walk when I discovered this scene. It's another section of the old golf course close to my house.

Per questo motivo fu grande il disappunto, condiviso da una coppia di compagni di viaggio, nell'apprendere che i due giorni a Guilin non contemplavano questa possibilità....

Armati di santa pazienza e un pò di incoscienza ci siamo organizzati da soli ...

un' auto degna di immediato sequestro per le sue condizioni da quarto, quinto e sesto mondo, strade sgarruppate, autisti con una "profondissima" conoscenza dell'inglese (hai presente "noio vulevam savuar ?" ) non ci hanno fatto perdere voglia ed entusiasmo ...

quel pomeriggio però è stato indimenticabile ...

un'atmosfera unica permeava quel luogo tranquillo e ricco del fascino che solo la natura sa rendere ...

peccato per l'unica piccola nota stonata: il rifiuto dei pescatori di accendere le loro lampare ...

a loro dire (oddio, è questo quello che abbiamo capito) le guardie li avrebbero multati se si fossero accorte della loro presenza sul fiume ...

per questo motivo lo scatto si intitola "Smorz e laitz", in onore del pezzo cantato da Renzo Arbore ...

infatti, dopo il tramonto, anche noi abbiamo esclamato :

" nun se vide,

manco o ...zz " ...

There was peaceful vibes in this beautiful town This church was built in 1876 and it was quite visible from all directions. It had beautiful architecture and has lasted all these years. two of my daughters went with me for a weekend getaway in the quaint little town of Occidental. They have quite a few historic buildings and lots of history. We enjoyed browsing some of the little shops and eating some really great food. They have quite a bit to offer in such a small town. The weather was really cold, and it was storming, but it was worth the trip as it was beautiful and fun and wonderful to be with my girls.
