The baboon belongs to the group of cheek pouch monkeys. The cheek pockets are his "shopping bag".
Der Dschelada oder Blutbrustpavian ist eine sehr seltene Primatenart aus der Unterfamilie der Backentaschenaffen in der Familie der Meerkatzenverwandten. Er ist eng mit den Pavianen verwandt.

In this park there are huge numbers of baboons with some groups having more than 200 members.
The Olive Baboon is the most widespread among the baboon species and their close relatives

Dscheladas sind reine Bodenbewohner, zum Schlafen ziehen sie sich in Felsspalten oder enge Schluchten zurück, den Tag verbringen sie mit der Nahrungssuche auf den ebenen Gebieten.
The gelada is a species of Old World monkey found only in the Ethiopian Highlands, living at elevations of 1,800–4,400 m (5,900–14,400 ft) above sea level.

Paviane sind über fast ganz Afrika verbreitet. Als einzige Primatengattung außer dem Menschen findet man sie auch im Nordosten des Kontinents, in Ägypten, Äthiopien und im Sudan. Das auffälligste Merkmal der Dscheladas ist ein roter, haarloser Fleck auf der Brust. Dieser ist bei Männchen sanduhrförmig und in der Brunftzeit leuchtend rot.

Anubispaviane haben das größte Verbreitungsgebiet aller Pavianarten, es erstreckt sich über weite Teile des mittleren Afrikas und reicht von Mali bis Äthiopien und südlich bis Tansania.
The species inhabits a strip of 25 equatorial African countries, very nearly ranging from the east to west coasts of the continent.
