My first entry into this month's comp. came across this sculpture covered in an amazing fish pattern on the Banks of the river Thames. Looked amazing in the evening sunlight.
Thanks for looking.

Tweeeedy... I was a little worried about this yarn since I've had mixed feelings about other KP yarns, but it really was nice to work with and very very soft! blogged
Adapted from a longstitch design in "Martin Lehrman's needlepoint cats". Pattern darning in variegated silk (about perle #12 in thickness), with blackwork border. The bold stripes and speckling show on top of the fabric, while the thread on the underside suggests the body shape in shadow form. I count it as blackwork, because pattern darning is a part of blackwork, historically. In fact it was my major piece when I did my Intermediate Blackwork course.

These are my last two Kaleidoscope tops. The blocks are the same and the size is the same. I changed the pictures to black & white just to show the difference the corner choices make. The one on the left (which is the pink & orange) has the corners in just two fabrics, both light. On the right (the blue & green) the corners are light and dark scrappy. On the left, you see the light circles very well but the dark hardly at all. On the right you can see both the light and dark, but you have to work a little harder at it :)
I want those T-strap shoes!
Seems to have been reissued a few years later, with little alteration, as Butterick See'n'Sew 5769.
