One of my favorite things about balsam flowers is that they grow on the carcass of the previous year.

I'm sure there's a lesson to be had here, but who knows what it is.

This is a close-up photo of ice pattens in a shallow stream flowing across Clam Harbour Beach.

Loved the pattern the water made as the sun shone down into the Yellow Breeches Creek at Yellow Breeches park.

This macro represents my last upload for some time. I will be away from Flickr for some weeks due to work commitments and I would just like to say thank you all for your kind comments and keep up the good work.

"Mother Nature's Abstracts"

I am incredibly drawn to patterns in our earth. These shots were all captured from a cliffside above, not a drone. The blue hues are all natural due to the blue-grey marine shales. It is more apparent under diffused light. Somewhere in Utah...

Architectural patterns + shadows + reflections makes quite a picture?

Went to the butterfly park to capture some shots of - butterflies of course. But there were none. May be it wasn't the season (?). Nevertheless, the flora was interesting enough too. This one is a random leaf of a random plant there.

I wish you all the very best for 2009!

Detail of a glass paperweight with millefiori or ‘thousand flowers’ canes which are produced by layering molten glass into a pattern in a fat cylindrical shape, then pulling the cylinder to create an elongated pencil-thin rod. When the rod is sliced, the pattern is seen in cross section.

This is a close-up photo of patterns in the sand in a stream at Clam Harbour Beach. There are a few pareidolia portraits present in the patterns.

That's the pattern for this Enjoy!

These were two vintage Indian embroidery booklets that I got in a tiny Indian Habberdashery in mauritius .. the entire shop was about 20 x 10 meters and had 7 sales assistants working in it ... what a find!! if any one wants a copy let me know
