The fountain is made of silicon bronze, and consists of a circular ring with a circumference of 66 metres supported on four large slanted columns. It occupies an area of 1683.07 square metres,[3] with a height of 13.8m.[4] The sand cast silicon bronze, including all formwork and patternmaking was designed, manufactured and installed by DCG Design and Meridian Projects (from Melbourne Australia) in 1995. The base area of the fountain is 1,683 square metres. In the design plan of Suntec City, where the five tower blocks represent the fingers and thumb of a left hand emerging from the ground, the fountain forms the palm of the hand.
So, I decided to go ahead and drop my Monday draping class. Even though I feel like I made the right decision, it still stings my pride a bit. At the end of the day, I had to make the best choice for my particular situation, which is that I have a 40+ hour a week job that sometimes extends to include the weekend, and it will just be impossible for me to go into school every weekend and re-teach myself what we covered in class in order to do the homework. Plus, having two excellent professors in my patternmaking and sewing classes has opened my eyes to the fact that I shouldn't have to settle for a poor professor in such an important subject. I know all this...and I still kind of feel like a quitter. Oh well.
Hey, here's an almost finished cardigan! I just need to pick up some buttons and do the button band/collar. I love it--it's such a grandpa sweater, which is exactly what I wanted.
