I spent a few days in downtown Los Angeles and photographed something other than bugs and flowers. There was so much construction going on, everywhere I walked.

trying to stick to a colour scheme for a month, or at least for a few designs... Autumn has just begun in Australia and it's started getting windy and rainy... not that these patterns really reflect that, but i thought the colour scheme would be nice for this time of year

Appalachian Trail, south end of Schaghticoke Ridge.

Nora and I used micro-spikes to hike three miles up the south end of the ridge to a small stream I’ve photographed ice on before, hoping to get a few ice shots this year. The hike was great although we had to push it because of the incoming snow storm. And, the stream did not disappoint; it was loaded with ice formations which it has taken me a while to sort through.

Seen on the walkway along the riverfront.

Chop Chop pattern.

It doesn't really matter if the 'curves' and 'triangles' are not the same size. The only important thing is that they line up - row by row.

It reminds me of a choppy sea but then again I see a flock of seagulls :)

Thank you for looking - comments most welcome :)

And I believe that this pattern of brick laying is :

Double Stretcher Garden Wall Bond - or variation of - but I could be wrong!

This shows how tiles fit underneath but it's going to be a headache to connect it to regular studs, because it has an extra 2/5 of a stud width every four studs. I'll figure something out or go insane trying. :-)
