Taken in Woodlands Historic Park, where there are some fantastic gnarly old trees with some amazing patterns in the wood.
The above is called "tempayan" in Malay. It is actually an earthenware jar - though this one is actually huge. It is about 3 feet high and could easily hold a person.
It originates from China and use to store food, pickled food, water or other preserved food such as fish and in the olden days, it even stores dead bodies.

A hosta leaf with droplets. I don't usually post process mm shots, but I really like the way the patterns are emphasized using the paint daubs effect in pse 10. I also used pixlr express collage to divide the image into 3 parts and then swapped the locations of the first and third panels. The original shot is in the first comment box below.
Our Daily Challenge ... patterns.
The grandchildren and I have got in on the latest craze for colouring in. I print the mandalas from the internet and when they come over they all sit round the table and colour in.That is of course after they have worn me out with riding and playing ball games!
I bought these four, all in striking colours, they are very decorative (when I have no fresh flowers I put those in a vase!).
Can't get over the fact that they are each quite different, individuals, I wonder if it has to do with the paint?
I love the deep rich tones and all the intricate detail, hope you do too.
Have a colourful day and thanx for your comments, M, (*_*)
