Here's the paisley again. I've colorized it (roughly) in Photoshop. Trying to get a feel for what works for it. I'd love to work this into a repeat.

i used my two favourite patterns, drew a string, then added horozontal lines and tangled away. i really like how this came out, almost like graffiti.

The patterns in the ice formed on large lakes are often interesting and show various stages of formation. Here the ice at the top and bottom of the photo consists of innumerable small crystals that froze together into a solid mass. The larger crystals formed in cracks or fissures in the sheets of the fine-grained ice.

On the left is a pattern I'm sure I've seen already as a tangle. It's the same principle as in Trimonds, but arranged as a star. Love the stylisation of fir trees on the right (top bit). The bit on the right side below is very much like the tangle Bales (on green background).

I could hardly sleep so I waited for the sun to come up and hung a doily in front of the sunlight to cast this lovely shadow. I have many more that I really liked that I'll post at a later time. I've had this idea for quite sometimes, but it would be so much easier to shoot if I had a model.
