A sandy area near the Laguna Madre, with some patterns carved after a storm had dumped a substantial amount of water on it. This is near sunset, and I was struck by the resemblance to an areal view of a desert.
I've taken a base photographic image, repeated it a few times to create the pattern and added some colour.

These were two vintage Indian embroidery booklets that I got in a tiny Indian Habberdashery in mauritius .. the entire shop was about 20 x 10 meters and had 7 sales assistants working in it ... what a find!! if any one wants a copy let me know
If you didn't guess, this is the patterning on the underside of an armadillo. This fellow may have met its demise during some recent flooding along the Buffalo River. At Boxley, the river moves from an open valley to a tighter canyon and flash floods are deadly.

Woodins are mysterious apparitions that inhabit fallen trees in the tickets of Central Park. Spotting them requires light footsteps and plenty of acorns to coax them out of hiding.
