4/17/24, "Pen to Paper," Finished Self Portrait We had our last class yesterday, a make-up from the class canceled by the snow storm two weeks ago. Using the portrait, we started in two colors, we added full color.

I had so much fun with the Posca and Acrylic makers that I decided to try again on a different subject: the lake house. It's a combination of watercolor in the background and Posca and Acrylic markers in the foreground.

Today I decided to play with Posca and Acrylic paint pens. I painted a red background in watercolor and then had fun with fishing lures. This was so much fun. I may need to do this again.

Today, I had no idea what I wanted to create. Then I remembered having fun doing Blob Birds. You paint blobs of color and then turn those blobs of color into birds.

I've been watching Jamie Oliver on Roku TV, and he cooked Zucchini Flowers. He deep-fried them using beer in the batter. I never knew you could or people did eat these. Plus, I had no idea this is how the zucchini grew.

A dozen years ago, while in Westchester County, NY, we went to an Estate sale where there were 15 of these very nice folding chairs. Wood back and soft cushion seat. And an interesting shape as well. We still have most of them. They are too cool to get rid of.

This is a new-fangled can opener. It does not create a sharp edge on a can. It's quite easy to use and stops those nasty can lid cuts. Oh, and it has a bottle opener and tab opener on the end I cut off.

I took a workshop, Color that Pops, with Suhita Shirodkar, one of my favorite urban sketchers. I love her bold colors, which was what the class was about. These are the two sketches from the class on seeing color—Sea Shore and Rocks.
