This well constructed set of cliff dwellings shows nicely the benefit of its situation in a south-facing alcove. In the cool winter the sun heats the rock and walls during the day, while in the warm summer the roof shades the dwelling. This group of rooms is near Moon House, and is around 900 to 1000 years old (Pueblo III).
and a roll up shade is also included to absorb winter heat and bring it inside, and in summer the glass skin can be opened to let the heat escape outside!
