I don't know how many times I've walked down these stairs in the Wisconsin Union and never really noticed much of anything. But tonight something -- the colors, the circle and the sheer angular geometry of it all -- just stopped me in my tracks and I had to take out the Coolpix and capture an image. It reminded me of Russian Constructivism.

We had just left Passenger Side, a Canadian film shot in LA that turned out to be my favorite of the six films we saw at this year's film festival -- a cool road movie about two brothers driving around LA with a great soundtrack (played on the cassette deck of a 1975 BMW). Martina requested a photo of these weeds without the Packard's dangling trim. The trim was still quite attached and I did not want to rip it off, so I sort of turned it out of the way to get this shot, however, it had to be framed slightly different so the rust poppy did not happen here.
