This photo is now showing at the top of the Flickr Blog as the top photo! It has been on there for about 24 hours which has greatly increased, (ok, well maybe not GREATLY) traffic to my photostream. Thanks for the phone call yesterday from Boiani to alert me right away.
(Originally uploaded 3 years ago but moved to the top of my photostream to celebrate it being highlighted in the flickr blog)

Viewed from Belmont Plateau late on a winter afternoon.
An aircraft, probably a passenger jet, was caught near the middle of the photo apparently aimed at the office towers. No accidents were reported. The altitude looks quite low. Probably just took off from Philadelphia International Airport.

“We cannot live only for ourselves.
A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow humans...
and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads,
our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.”

RBMN 2102 passes the cement plant, where I've photographed freight crews a few times over the years. The loco is leading one of the new Rambles for 2022. The train started in Reading, will stop at Port Clinton, and then travel on to Jim Thorpe.

Returning to the Athens portfolio. It's been a while.
The Athens Metro rapid transit system covering Greater Athens and East Attica is operated by STASY (Urban Rail Transport SA). Some figures: system length: 97 km; annual ridership: 5 million passengers; number of stations: 66; Number of railcars: 294.
Shown here is a 'First generation' electric trainset (EMU) built by Alstom Siemens Adtranz in 2000. The yellow tube fitted next to the rails ('the third rail') provides electric current to the trains.
This is number 39 of the Athens/Piraeus album: here and 700 of Canon EF-S 17-85 IS USM.
Headed East out of Sunbury, this special passenger train is enroute to Snydertown along the Shamokin Creek.
This right of way was built by the Shamokin, Sunbury & Lewisburg Railroad (SS&L) chartered in 1882. The SS&L was completed the following year from Shamokin to West Milton and acquired by the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad, popularly known simply as "The Reading Railroad."
The train operated with an EMD SW1500 at each end. This end's loco is No. 1942. Built in 1972, this is one of six such 1500 horsepower locos rostered by the North Shore Railroad.
The baggage car was once part of the Conrail OCS roster as No. 23.

Clifford Pier is an iconic landmark completed in 1933 at Marina Bay Singapore, and served as a landing point for immigrants and other passengers arriving by sea. Since 2014, it was converted into a restaurant, as part of Fullerton Bay Hotel. This night photograph shows Clifford Pier with its distinctive tower top with revolving restaurants and newer high-rise buildings in Singapore’s Central Business District in the background.

Matilda: "Who she is talking to?"
Frīda: "Train attendant is talking to us! To all of those who are in train now."
Matilda: "But she said: pass...pass...engers"
Frīda: " Passengers. You see, you are Matilda, I am Frīda, but once we are in train to travel somewhere, we become passengers"
"All of us?" Matilda still wants to know
"All who are on the train", smiles Frīda
