When we imagine backwoods, we think of dry places (no rain), arid land, dry trees and a very strong sun, and that's actually it, but we also find places like this, very beautiful, different from the image pattern of the sertão, so we thought, everywhere, however difficult it may be, there are beauties, which sometimes hidden, make us fall in love with the place. This is a sink with its main natural formation, and modified by the owner of this farm, placing some protective walls, and adding passages between locations. Even with the artificial modification, the place is beautiful, it is in the neighborhood of Canoa, in the city of Coronel João Sá, Bahia, Brazil. Here is a place to think, rest, sunbathe, take a shower and so on. I made several images of this place, but this one caught my attention, in my mind, it's like a paradise!
Quando imaginamos sertão, pensamos em locais secos (sem chuvas), terra árida, árvores secas e um sol muito forte, e na verdade é isso mesmo, mas também encontramos locais que nem este, muito bonito, diferente do padrão de imagem do sertão, então pensamos, em todos os lugares, por maís difícil que seja, existem belezas, que as vezes escondidas, nos fazem apaixonarmos pelo local. Esta é uma pia com sua formação principal natural, e modificada pelo dono desta fazenda, colocando uns muros de proteção, e adicionando passagens entre locais. Mesmo com a modificação artificial, o lugar é belo, fica no bairro da Canoa, na cidade de Coronel João Sá, Bahia, Brasil. Aqui é um lugar para pensar, descansar, tomar um sol, tomar um banho e etc. Fiz diversas imagens deste local, mas esta me chamou muito a atenção, na minha mente, é como se fosse um paraíso!

ENG: To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Konzerthaus on the Gendarmenmarkt, an anniversary gala and ceremony will be held this year. On May 26, 1821, the Konzerthaus Berlin ceremoniously opened with a prologue by Goethe. Less than a month later, "Der Freischütz" was premiered. It was a brilliant success: several passages were repeated after the applause. The "Jägerchor" and the song from the "Jungfernkranz" became earworms.
The Gendarmenmarkt dates back to the 17th century and is a square in the historic centre of Berlin, which is generally regarded as "Berlin's most beautiful square". In the centre is the former Royal Theatre, flanked on the south side by the German Cathedral and on the north side by the French Cathedral.
The square was built in 1688 according to plans by Johann Arnold Nering as part of the Friedrichstadt, which Elector Friedrich III, later King Friedrich I of Prussia, had built at the end of the 17th century. In this historic quarter settled a large part of the French immigrants (Huguenots), to whom the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg with the Edict of Potsdam in 1685 had assured the protection of their religious freedom and full citizenship.

GER: Zur Feier des 200. Geburtstages des Konzerthauses am Gendarmenmarkt findet dieses Jahr eine Jubiläumsgala mit Festakt statt. Am 26. Mai 1821 eröffnete das Konzerthaus Berlin mit einem Prolog von Goethe feierlich. Knapp einen Monat später wurde «Der Freischütz» uraufgeführt. Es war ein fulminanter Erfolg: Mehrere Passagen wurden nach dem Beifall wiederholt. Der «Jägerchor» und das Lied vom «Jungfernkranz» wurden Ohrwürmer.
Der Gendarmenmarkt stammt aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und ist ein Platz in der historischen Mitte von Berlin, dieser gilt gemeinhin als „schönster Platz Berlins“. Im Zentrum befindet sich das ehemalige Königliche Schauspielhaus, das an der Südseite vom Deutschen Dom und an der Nordseite vom Französischen Dom flankiert wird.
Der Platz entstand ab 1688 nach Plänen von Johann Arnold Nering als Teil der Friedrichstadt, die Kurfürst Friedrich III., der spätere König Friedrich I. in Preußen, Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts anlegen ließ. In diesem historischen Viertel siedelte sich ein Großteil der französischen Einwanderer (Hugenotten) an, denen der Große Kurfürst Friedrich Wilhelm von Brandenburg mit dem Edikt von Potsdam im Jahr 1685 den Schutz ihrer religiösen Freiheit und volles Bürgerrecht zugesichert hatte.

In our lives, sooner or later we come across passages like this one, steep, uncomfortable and frustrating.
It is not uncommon for us to fight our way forward one step and then slide back two. We fall and get up again, carry on and fall again. We just look at others and at our roots. It's an arduous journey, but little by little we're making progress.
Directly in front of us, we see nothing but the mountain we are struggling with. But no matter how it works, every climb is eventually mastered. And when we get to the top, we step into the light, breathe the fresh air, feel the warmth of the sun on our faces and enjoy the view.
With still shaky legs we look back and see what we have achieved. We can be proud of it, proud of every mountain that we have conquered in life. From this we draw the strength to look ahead, to go further and not to shy away from the next steep passage.
In unserem Leben stoßen wir früher oder später auf Passagen wie diese hier, steil, unbequem und frustrierend.
Nicht selten kämpfen wir uns einen Schritt vor um danach zwei wieder zurück zu rutschen. Wir fallen und stehen wieder auf, machen weiter und fallen erneut. Wir suchen halt bei anderen und bei unseren Wurzeln. Es ist ein mühsamer Weg doch Stück für Stück kommen wir voran.
Den Blick direkt vor uns gerichtet sehen wir nichts anderes mehr als den Berg mit dem wir gerade kämpfen. Doch ganz gleich wie es wirkt, jeder Anstieg ist irgendwann bewältigt. Und oben angekommen treten wir ins Licht, atmen die frische Luft, fühlen die Wärme der Sonne im Gesicht und geniessen die Aussicht.
Mit noch wackeligen Beinen schauen wir zurück und sehen, was wir geleistet haben. Wir dürfen stolz darauf sein, stolz auf jeden Berg, den wir im Leben bezwungen haben. Daraus schöpfen wir die Kraft nach vorn zu blicken, weiter zu gehen und auch vor der nächsten steilen Passage nicht zurück zu schrecken.

The Peekaboo Loop Trail in Bryce Canyon is just a great and wonderful hike. I takes about 3-4 hours - without taking photographs! - so just add a few hours :-) but it is really worth while - even if you have quite a bit of elevation...
...originally I planned this hike for the next day but I was earlier there at Bryce Canyon National Park than expected and so I started with the Navajo Trail (what is like the German Autobahn at Bryce Canyon - with a lot of people...) but leaving this trail and entering the Peekaboo Loop Trail - I was almost alone.
And again I had the luck on my side - the clouds cleared up and it was just photography weather - and next morning it was heavily raining, windy and just cold...no problem I already had a few shots...around 600 :-))
Der Peekaboo Loop Trail im Bryce Canyon ist wirklich eine großartige Wanderung. Man braucht 3-4 Stunden - ohne Fotografieren - also einfach ein paar Stunden/Tage/Wochen hinzuzählen :-) - aber die Tour ist es echt wert...wenn auch mit ziemlich vielen z.T. steilen Auf- und Ab-Passagen...
...ursprünglich hatte ich diese Tour für den nächsten Tag geplant, doch da ich schon mittags am Bryce Canyon angekommen war, startete ich mit dem Navajo Trail (ein bisschen wie auf der Deutschen Autobahn...eine Menge Leute) aber abgebogen auf den Peekaboo Loop Trail war ich dann fast alleine.
Und wieder hatte ich das Glück auf meiner Seite - die Wolken lichteten sich etwas und so hatte ich mittendrin herrliches Fotowetter - und am nächsten Morgen regnete heftig, mit ziemlich Wind und es war einfach nur kalt und ungemütlich - kein Problem - ich hatte ja schon ein paar Fotos im Kasten - so um die 600 :-))
🇫🇷« Le nid aux peintres », c’est le surnom du pittoresque hameau d’Erbalunga. Normal : dans les années 60, ce beau village portuaire a inspiré de nombreux peintres insulaires venus l’immortaliser… Installée sur la côte Est du Cap Corse, Erbalunga est la marine de Brando, située à seulement 10 kilomètres de Bastia. Le village s’étend sur une mince avancée de terre qui se termine par une tour génoise en ruines classée Monument Historique depuis 1995. Les maisons sont presque les pieds dans l’eau. Le village est très paisibleloisir de flâner dans les ruelles pavées, les passages voûtés et les places agréablement ombragées par les platanes et les palmiers.
🇩🇪 "Das Malernest" ist der Spitzname des malerischen Weilers Erbalunga. Normal: In den 60er Jahren inspirierte dieses wunderschöne Hafendorf viele Inselmaler, die kamen, um es zu verewigen... Erbalunga liegt an der Ostküste von Cap Corse und ist das Meer von Brando, nur 10 Kilometer von Bastia entfernt. Das Dorf erstreckt sich über einen dünnen Landvorsprung, der mit einem zerstörten genuesischen Turm endet, der seit 1995 als historisches Denkmal eingestuft ist. Die Häuser sind fast Füße im Wasser. Das Dorf ist sehr friedlichFreizeit, um durch die gepflasterten Straßen, gewölbten Passagen und Plätze angenehm von Platanen und Palmen beschattet zu schlendern.
🇪🇸 "El nido de los pintores" es el apodo de la pintoresca aldea de Erbalunga. Normal: en los años 60, este hermoso pueblo portuario inspiró a muchos pintores isleños que vinieron a inmortalizarlo... Situado en la costa este de Cap Corse, Erbalunga es el marino de Brando, situado a sólo 10 kilómetros de Bastia. El pueblo se extiende sobre un delgado afloramiento de tierra que termina con una torre genovesa en ruinas clasificada como Monumento Histórico desde 1995. Las casas están casi a los pies en el agua. El pueblo es muy tranquiloocio para pasear por las calles empedradas, pasajes abovedados y plazas agradablemente sombreadas por plátanos y palmeras.

Brescia is a medium-sized city in Lombardy. I really like it there, for several reasons. It's the smallest city in the world to have a metro system, it's a beautiful city, with Roman and medieval sites, an incredible city. Plus I lived there when I was just a baby, and it's the birthplace of some of my ancestors. I was there for only 7 days in 2019 but I loved the city. Soon after, the city was one of the most affected by the pandemic, and I was very sad.

Brescia é uma cidade média na Lombardia. Gosto muito de lá, por vários motivos. É a menor cidade do mundo a ter um sistema de metrô, é uma cidade linda, com sítios romanos e medievais, uma cidade incrível. Além disso eu morei ali quando era apenas um bebê, e é a terra natal de alguns de meus ancestrais.Estive ali pro apenas 7 dias em 2019 mas amei a cidade. Logo deposi a cidade foi uma das mais afetadas pela pandemia, e fiquei muito triste.
ENG: The Galeries Lafayette Berlin is a department store in Berlin's Friedrichstrasse (Mitte district). The Quartier 206 Art & Fashion House opened in 1997 and has around 8,000 m² of retail space and 16,000 m² of office space.
The "Art & Fashion House" Quartier 206 forms the centre of Friedrichstadt Passagen on Berlin's Friedrichstrasse. The department store is connected to the Galeries Lafayette Berlin in the north and Quartier 205 in the south by a tunnel. It opened in 1997. The façade is designed in an Art Deco style. The architect was Henry N. Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners of New York. The client was the Jagdfeld family.
After a few years, the commercial property got into economic difficulties: in 2011, the Mitte District Court ordered receivership; in 2012 and again in 2018 there was the threat of foreclosure. Tenants such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton had not renewed their leases.

Das „Art & Fashion House“ Quartier 206 bildet die Mitte der Friedrichstadt Passagen an der Berliner Friedrichstraße. Durch einen Tunnel ist das Warenhaus verbunden mit den Galeries Lafayette Berlin im Norden und dem Quartier 205 im Süden. Es wurde 1997 eröffnet. Die Fassade ist einem dem Art déco nachempfundenen Stil gestaltet. Der Architekt war Henry N. Cobb vom Büro Pei Cobb Freed & Partners aus New York. Auftraggeber war die Familie Jagdfeld.
Nach wenigen Jahren geriet die Gewerbeimmobilie in wirtschaftliche Schwierigkeiten: 2011 ordnete das Amtsgericht Mitte die Zwangsverwaltung an; 2012 und erneut 2018 drohte die Zwangsversteigerung. Mieter wie Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent und Louis Vuitton hatten ihre Pachtverträge nicht verlängert.
