I have to say, this was amazing to see, the high lunchtime sun penetrating through the thankfully persistent mist created some truly breath-taking sights! Standing in one of my favourite areas in Hillock Wood, the sun beams appeared to follow the lines of the pines creating a real strange but beautiful effect. Ah the wonders of nature :)

After Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday night, a thick fog descended over the area blanketing the fields and woods. I took my dogs out for their last walk of the night and it was eerily ethereal. I caught the water particles dancing in the beam of my flashlight. They came out like streaks because they were constantly in motion.

Saturn, the jewel of the Solar System, is the second largest planet after Jupiter and the only one with a ring system that can be seen from Earth, even with small telescopes. It is 120,536 km in diameter (nine and a half times the diameter of the Earth) and is made up of hydrogen in more than 90% of its mass, and helium in just over 5%. Its ring structure extends over the planet's equator and is made up of particles with an abundance of ice crystals. In this modest image it is very easy to distinguish the three main groups: the A, B and C rings and the Cassini division.
This photograph is the result of stacking the frames of a video captured with my little Maksutov-Cassegrain Explore Scientific 127, f/15, Barlow Meade 2x and Player One Ceres-C Camera.
