Hand stitched embroidery for the Necklace of Stars quilt. ‘A collaboration with isolated, housebound older people in Derbyshire.
Commissioned project promoting use of reusable bags. For every 500 reusable bags used in the Chelsea Whole Foods, one native plant (columbine, poppies, seedum & ferns) is planted in the "-1" window installation. The "-1" installation was created from almost 400 recycled plastic bags sewn into little plant bags.
Special thanks to Michele at Gowanus Nursery for her expertise and assistance in procuring the plants,
and to Marielle at Union Square Native Plant Garden, where you can go visit the plants.

The mural was designed and painted by community groups in the area and depicts local scenes embellished with imagination. The piece was inspired by the artist Hundertwasser and their creativity was facilitated by Action Factory artists Jacky Kearney & Sue Walpole.

Make a wish
Write it down on a piece of paper
Fold it and tie it around a branch of a Wish Tree
Ask your friends to do the same
Keep wishing
Until the branches are covered with wishes -- Yoko Ono

The artist K a.k.a. Kaloyan Ivanov in his creation the Void Simulacrum at the 2012 Figment Festival on Governors Island. He is actually a friend of a friend which is how I discovered this piece. The Void skews the properties of the universe. You are viewing this photo in the correct orientation. There is nothing wrong with your television set...
Details of the process involved in making the cling film limbs. The limbs themselves are simple to make - wrap an arm or leg in a couple of layers of clingfilm, then thoroughly wrap the whole thing in at least 2 layers of sticky tape. Next, cut gently along one side as though removing a plastercast and remove limb. Then tape up the cut and the limb is complete!
