The Inca jay (Cyanocorax yncas) is a bird species of the New World jays, which is endemic to the Andes of South America.
Their basic diet consists of arthropods, vertebrates, seeds, and fruit.
The range extends southwards in the Andes from Colombia and Venezuela through Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

I participated in my first Christmas Bird Count in quite a few decades yesterday. One of our highlights was this lovely Barred Owl, spotted at Rock Spring Park in Alton, Illinois.

Landmark: Horizon%20Beach/121/60/2001
The word sail, a monument to poetry, is the name of a steel sculpture by Heinrich Popp.
The sculpture stands on an open field northwest of Sotzweiler, the birthplace of the sculptor and today a district of the Saarland municipality of Tholey in the district of St. Wendel. On an elevation of about 338 metres above NHN, the sculpture represents a landmark visible from afar.
The word sail consists of two sail-shaped triangles, one of which stands on the top and which are twisted against each other. The two halves of the sail, made of stainless steel, are welded together at their highest point. At the same time, the empty space between the two steel plates also has a sail-like shape, depending on the point of view.
The monument, a gift from Heinrich Popp to his home community, was erected in 2005 after several years of planning and execution. The two steel plates were cast in the Dillinger Hütte and rolled to a thickness of 3 cm. The sculpture has a height of 13 meters and a total weight of approx. 30 tons.
The term word sail is also the name of a writing and poetry competition initiated by the artist at participating schools in Saarland.

In 2005 I participated in a contest hosted by FBTB to design and build an Imperial Voidfighter. My entry at the time was mediocre. Here is a reimagined version of the Voidfighter more than 17 years later, featuring a pilot minifig with an extremely rare dark bluish gray snowtrooper helmet from around 2010 (only 2 known in existence).

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is an American four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed and built by Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin). Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft.
The versatile airframe has found uses in other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refueling, maritime patrol, and aerial firefighting. The C-130 entered service with the U.S. in 1956, followed by Australia and many other nations. In 2007, the transport became the fifth aircraft to mark 50 years of continuous service with its original primary customer, which for the C-130 is the United States Air Force. This picture participates in the huge 'Massilight' project, started with around 15000 night pictures of 'Massilia' (Marseilles) that tell a story of Marseilles and close surroundings, gathered during the 2009-2010 winter, mostly when the Christmas lights illuminate the city.

I participated in a photo meetup today in Pigeon Forge. Unlike most of the other local attractions built to lure tourists, this Old Mill is the real deal in terms of its historical nature.

This is part of Art for The Dead, remembering people who died during military crackdown in Bangkok on April 10 and May 19, 2010 in which more than 90 civilians dead (so far) and up to 2.000 wounded. This particular event took place at Democracy Monument on August 1st, 2010. It's also called Red Sunday. Viewers became participants and part of performance.

1. For {dramadancer1} ♥: I use Photo Studio 5.5, which came with a Canon scanner. It's essentially Elements.
2. I have the manliest arms on a 17 year old girl you've ever seen. Unless you're a gymnast, too.
3. When I edit my pictures and change color balance, I almost always drive up the yellow balance a lot. I think it looks prettier :)
4. I love mascara. Whenever I use it, I apply a TON.
5. I've never broken a bone, but I have had surgery due to muscle tear.
6. History is my worst subject. I'm not too interested in it and I'm horrible at memorizing. D:
7. I used to text and talk like a maniac, but now I feel like I spend all my time either taking pictures or studying.
8. I'm really good at video games for some reason, but I don't like them (minus Rockband/Band Hero)
9. My mom recently showed me her camera from before - a film camera, obviously - a Pentax K2. I'm really bummed that film isn't sold for it anymore, because otherwise I'd be using it 24/7.
