The Wayamo Foundation hosted a two-day workshop in Kampala, Uganda, from 5-6 March 2023.

 

The workshop brought together Sudanese lawyers to discuss the domestic application of international legal concepts and norms; regional and international precedents for establishing accountability mechanisms; the role of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and its limitations; international criminal investigations, as well as national and international reparations.

El filólogo, escritor y académico de la Real Academia Española (RAE) Juan Gil presentó la nueva edición de Conquistas prohibidas: Españoles en Borneo y Camboya durante el siglo XVI (Biblioteca Castro, 2024), que ha estado a su cargo. Juan Gil conversó con el también académico Darío Villanueva sobre las expediciones españolas del siglo XVI que trataron de levantar en Asia un imperio paralelo al americano. Los acompañó el presidente de la Fundación José Antonio de Castro, Juan Manuel Urgoiti.

Participants exchanged stories about families who worked market gardens around Frogmore and Findon Roads 1920s - 1970s. Memories were documented through video for a website preserving stories of lives and land use for the Frogmore/Findon Roads Market Gardens Oral History Project. Supported by the City of Charles Sturt.
