Cultural Performance & Reception for All Participants attending the EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum
Participants of the Forest Watcher App’s training and networking workshop held in the city of Filadelfia in the Paraguayan Chaco, do a final debrief session. Aimed at introducing the recently developed App to local organizations, so that they could use it to monitor the deforestation and alerts such as fires in the region, it counted with the presence of members of several national and international organizations, including FAPI, GFW, WRI, Tierras Indigenas and was done with the support of Rainforest Foundation Norway.

On March 24, 2011, U.S. Department of State Under Secretary Judith McHale visited the Peapod Academy/Central Community School in Redwood City, California to participate in a Skype call organized by iEARN-USA and iEARN-Pakistan between students from the United States and Pakistan. Students on both sides of the conversation have demonstrated how they can be creators of media and knowledge, instead of being simply consumers through in the Adobe Youth Voices and the iEARN World Youth News project.
Participants comprising academics, researchers and representatives from state governments from across India at the two-day training workshop. The workshop was organized to facilitate a direct interaction between the project partners of the Planning Commission–UNDP project ‘Human Development: Towards Bridging Inequalities’ and Dr. Milorad Kovacevic, the Chief Statistician at the UNDP HDRO. Participants draw a picture of the LEGO structure to use as a guide for assembly of a replica at the finish line of the Adventure Race, a part of the annual Minuteman Road Race, held at the Claude T. Bowers Military Center in Raleigh, N.C., Sept. 11, 2011. Participants had to examine a completed structure at the transition area during the Adventure Race, and replicate it once they had arrived at the finish line to earn the allotted points for that event. A cross-section of the Sudanese legal community from Khartoum and Darfur, including former and current prosecutors, individual members of the Ministry of Justice, and independent lawyers, received training on transitional justice, domestic application of international legal concepts and norms, the role of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and its limitations, modalities of complementarity with the ICC, accountability for cases of conflict-related sexual violence, as well as national and international reparations.
