I made a quick stop at Koll before heading to Tualatin Hills Nature Park. Not much going on, although I see a pied-billed grebe nest in the lake, with the mother sitting on it. Hoping to see greblings (made up word) soon. Just before I left, I saw and heard this killdeer fly in and land. The funny thing is that this is a little island/divider in the parking lot. Landed there and settled down. I took a few shots from the car, then parked a bit away and walked toward it, and hunched down for this lower viewpoint. Wouldn't even know that it was a parking lot shot!
Shot in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood. I usually only post one shot from a given scene but looking back in the archives I decided a second shot from this sequence might be worthy of posting.
beauty need not be grand. it can be as simple as this: pieces of snow, in sunrise light, on the gritty ground of a parking lot, in the middle of winter.
Saw this magnificent pair of sparkly shoes in a parking lot on the edge of the James River where we attempted to get down to the river. That never happened due to certain obstacles, (although Anita managed to find a hole in the chain link fence and trespassed on railroad property which resulted in an awesome train shot!) but these shoes happened and they made me smile due to their brilliant sparkling abilities and I do love me some sparkle! LOL
from afar, this could be sunset over an ocean. the reality: it’s a puddle in the parking lot of home depot. after getting paint supplies, i walked outside to magical light on ice and puddles. ocean or parking lot, there’s beauty around us. i’m trying to find a bigger perspective.
This is a just for fun picture. I was walking across the parking lot, just after it had rained. I looked down and just could not resist taking the shot.
